Most anticipated runner in 2009

Barbaros full brother due any day now.

Scav 01-30-2007 08:08 AM

He already has a full brother on the ground, born in 2006

Cajungator26 01-30-2007 08:32 AM

His half brother (Holy Ground) just entered stud at Bridlewood Farm this season as well.

Easyrider 01-30-2007 10:23 AM

Does the 2006 full brother have a name yet?

Are we sure it's a brother?

LMAO! Good point, Nicole. I guess we all tend to get a little ahead of ourselves. La Ville Rouge seems to throw colts, that's for sure. Maybe she's due for a filly.

Easyrider 01-30-2007 10:51 AM

When/if the full siblings make it to the track to race, there will be plenty of press coverage due the terrible circumstances that happened yesterday.

cakes44 01-30-2007 11:39 AM

I'm sure there are many, so I would just like to hear some names from some more knowledgeable posters. Who are some full bros/sisters that were both Grade I winners?

On a side note: I absolutely love betting against Aristocrat. He always takes action and it's usually money in the bank for me baby.

first ones that come to my mind are cacique, intercontinental, banks hill who are gr/gp 1 winners...plus their other full sibs dansili and champs elysees who are graded winners although not grade 1

Toussad threw Chester House (Gr 1 winner), Honest Lady (Gr 1), Decharchy (Gr 2), Chiselling (Gr 1) and Empire Maker (Gr 1)....

smartyalex 01-30-2007 01:08 PM

Correct me if I am wrong but what about Pure Prize and Good Reward.

smartyalex 01-30-2007 01:16 PM

How about Adjudicating and Dispute. They were full siblibngs.:)

Pure Prize and a Grade 1 would be like oil and water.

blackthroatedwind 01-30-2007 01:20 PM

Miner's Mark and My Flag ( and maybe Our Emblem ) .

The Indomitable DrugS 01-30-2007 01:24 PM

Traditionally was a Grade 1 winner--Not Our Emblem.

The Indomitable DrugS 01-30-2007 01:27 PM

Cacique, Intercontinental, Heat Haze, and Banks Hill are all Grade 1 winners from the same dam.

Dahlia and Personal Ensign are the only two champion race mares to drop three Grade 1 winning foals as broodmares.

Juddmonte blood-stock is the best...of course Weekend Surprise might argue that.

The Oaklawn Handicap was a Grade 1 back then I guess.

Heavenly Prize and Oh What A Windfall...

Aldebaran and Good Journey...

Which is funny since it's the male who determines the sex of the offspring. Maybe Dynaformer's X's just can't run in her, ahem, track.

Tell us about Dance Spell.....oh indomitable one.

The Indomitable DrugS 01-30-2007 02:04 PM

Dance Spell was more during your time.....

He ran 2nd to Forego a couple times, and won a few Grade 2 stakes, with several Grade 1 stake placings.

blackthroatedwind 01-30-2007 02:15 PM

I know, I was teasing you, and I saw him race more than a few times. He was a fine horse, trained by Jimmy Maloney, and I definitely remember him finishing second to Father Hogan in the Jim Dandy but his accomplishments were many.

He was one of my favorite horses when I was a kid. One of the reasons was he seemed to race a lot.

It's a colt, Nicole. They just said it on Larry King... interesting.

She's in foal to Dynaformer for a 2007 colt as well, Scav.

smartyalex 01-30-2007 08:55 PM

The Jackson's own a yearling full brother to Barbaro.

mark2061mn 01-30-2007 11:34 PM

i liked the pair of affirmed and silent fox. they were slightly before my time, but a friend of mine who was both a huge fan of affirmed and an astute judge of horse flesh swore up and down that he thought that before silent fox got hurt, he was better than affirmed.

laz had alot of good things to say about silent fox as well.

Cajungator26 02-02-2007 02:03 PM

Older thread, but I forgot about the broodmare Windsharp. She threw two G1 winners...

Johar and Dessert (half siblings.) I believe Johar has a 3 year old full sister as well, although I don't know if she's done anything on the track.

Byebyemermaid 02-02-2007 07:02 PM

Capital Asset full brother to Secretariat never amounted to anything as well as Capito full brother to Riva Ridge.
