Donn is looking nice 8 or 9 horse field would be nice way to start out the season

Invasor
Chatain
Strong Contender
Premium Tap (Maybe)
Hesanoldsalt

May get 2 or 3 horses out of some race thatn Hesanoldsalt is running in down in GS on Fri (MB Sea, Jersey Peach, O' Connell's, Siphon City,Big Lover, and Philanthropist)

Unless there was a setback Magna Graduate was pointing here as well.

Not if some of the other horses mentioned are going there.

You're right, you're right.

I should have said, "pointing towards a finish ahead of nothing but glorified allowance horses..."

tycharles01 01-12-2007 11:40 AM

Who goes depends on who runs well today!!

Hesanoldsalt is a lock but could def see MB Sea,Siphon City, Philanthropist go to the Donn if they run well

today race is at 1 1/8 same as the Donn

Premium Tap would look great in the Donn, but def wont beat Invasor(Please be at least 9/5)!!!!

SniperSB23 01-12-2007 12:17 PM

I would also expect Fairbanks and Barcola to go as well off their 1-2 finish in a 9 furlong allowance at Gulfstream last week.

Barcola could be Invasor's lead pony.

He might not be that fast. Still Reddam paid good money to run that horse in the Donn so you gotta imagine a second place finish in an allowance isn't going to dissaude him. Fairbanks at least has some potential, certainly not enough to beat Invasor or Premium Tap though.

No comment on Fairbanks. Barcola isn't worth 75K.....and I'm dead serious. Reddam was extraordinarily foolish to buy him and the 2YO ( new 3YO ) both of whom were off bias aided and fraudulent inner wins.....and I said this before they raced ( the 3YO ran last Sunday ).

I would be willing to bet he paid about ten times what they were worth. VERY foolish and somebody gave him horrendous advice.

tycharles01 01-12-2007 12:40 PM

Well maybe get a nice price on the Super

Invasor and Premium Tap Plus 2 other horses(BOMBS) Hopefully

Looks like Fairbanks only got a 96 Beyer last out, I thought it would crack triple digits. Agree on Barcola although I think he might be worth $75K, not much more though. A very foolish purchase.

Was Fairbanks a super expensive yearling?

Personally I think spending over $1 million on any horse before it sets foot on a track is beyond foolish. For an on track purchase though Barcola has to rank up there as one of the more baffling.

I agree...i was just pointing out the obvious...

Barry Irwin and team are not my favorites...

Add Magna Graduate as a def

AP Arrow and Master Command as possiblity (MB Sea, O Connell's) both ran nice could be going there as well

Why are there so many decent horses running against Invasor?? Do the trainers know something that no one else does?? I see horses who should be claimers/others who are underachievers

Everytime I see another horse i wonder even if Invasor is running:(

Likely

Invasor
Magna Graduate
Strong Contender
Hesanoldsalt
Chatain

Maybe

AP Arrow
Premium Tap
Master Command
Fairbanks
Barcola
MB Sea
O Connell's
Better than Bonds

I think mainly because there are no G1s on the East Coast between the Donn and the Pimlico Special.

IF noone ran, how would anyone bet?? Would be a pretty boring sport!! I hope 10 horses take on Invasor. I always prefer big fields. 2nd isn't bad money either. And you never know. Sun King was a nose from beating Invasor...he isn't exactly the greatest horse ever, so anything can and at times does happen in this sport. Lots better horses than Invasor have lost races. What better spot to try him...first race back in 3 months and 9f when he probably prefers 10.

tycharles01 01-13-2007 10:12 AM

Horse,

You must not have seen the middle of last year when we were getting 4 or 5 horse races because they did not want to face a horse and the 4 or 5 horses would not even win some maiden races

I love 9 or 10 horse fields more possiblities and always that chance for bigger paydays. But most trainers would rather have there horse run a 60,000 no doubt win race then finish 4th or 5th for half of that in a G1 or G2

Also doubt if that 3 months will affect him at all- dont forget he was out a while before that Breeders Cup Win
