Nice gift...

What was the best thing that you got for the holiday's?

I got a horseshoe money clip from my parents that was inscribed "31 Lengths".
And the new puppy, of course ( see the post under "off topic").

1.) Culture Warrior by Bill O'Reilly
2.) A 1000-piece Bill O'Reilly jigsaw puzzle (Jordan and I wonder if anyone else in America actually goes to the Bill O'Reilly webstore and buys the jigsaw puzzle...)
3.) A 24-pack of the South's most delightful treat that does not start with "Fried" and end with "Chicken"...Cheerwine.
4.) Wanda Sykes's new DVD
5.) A hand-written sticker from Paula Poundstone, my favorite recovering alcoholic and probably my new favorite comedian, that reminds me that I am the coolest person ever and that nobody in the future will probably ever be as cool either -- a sticker that will go in the book that is still on the way to me!

This might sound a like "sappy" but my stepdaughter got me this little Barbaro
"Beanie Baby" from this year's Kentucky Derby. It different than the other Kentucky Derby one that they put out. This one has the "8" saddle cloth and the tag has his name & date.
Besides that;
Pittsburgh Steelers gear (like I don't have enough already!)
The Roddy Piper dvd - Born to Controversy
and $$$ from my dad, which will come in handy on Thursday when I make my first visit to the Big A, I've been to Belmont for all the Breeder's Cups
so I'm looking forward to some "Inner-track" action!

ShadowRoll 12-26-2006 12:56 PM

An ipod shuffle. I used to listen to ATRAB during my drive home from work (on my Sirius car radio), but since I've moved out to the 'burbs, I've been on the train when the show comes on. Now, I can download the podcast and listen on the train.

Oh yeah...and a genuine rubber chicken. Don't know how I got along all these years without one.

I got that too! :)

I also got a white gold & diamond horseshoe necklace that is very spark-lee. The new Man O' War book, the DRF 2006 Almanac, racing calender, bottle of Chianti and a whole slew of ornaments, wine stoppers etc. from Saratoga gift shops.

More importantly though, I had my best Christmas ever. :)

The best present I ever got was this year. My oldest daughter and my 2nd oldest daughter bought a photo album and put together a family photo album. It was BY FAR the most thoughtfull and best x-mas present I have ever received.

I also got to see my wife read a book we got the 2nd oldest daughter for x-mas. There is just something that makes me happy when I watch my wife read to our children.

Danzig 12-26-2006 01:42 PM

my hubby spoiled me this year.
bob and toms newest collection, man boobs. two ps2 games, madden 07 and civil war. and i got my 24th and final book to complete the t'bred legends series.
but i must admit, my favorite thing he got me is this shiny ring on my finger. he got me one of those past present future diamonds. i'm no jewelry person, a silver band was all i wore (9.94 from wal-mart) but that is no longer the case! it's a beauty.

dellinger63 12-27-2006 09:42 AM

A gift certificate from my girlfriend's oldest boy to a little dive bar/restaurant with instructions that it is to be used with him, not his mother, for an upcoming Bear's playoff game. This is one awesome kid.

dellinger63 12-27-2006 09:46 AM

Oh and the worst gift was a cold/stomach virus from my brother's mob of kids.

Cajungator26 12-27-2006 10:08 AM

I was just happy to be safe at home... we had a lot of tornadoes down here on Christmas day and many people lost their homes. :(

I am probably the last person on the planet to get one, but I also got an iPod. :D It's really cool... I need to get a transponder for it so that I can put it in my car.

Nascar1966 12-27-2006 10:16 AM

The best gift I got for Xmas was the enjoyment of spoiling my 14 year old and getting my wife a new cell phone, that she wasnt expecting.

We had some miserable wind here that morning, too. I live about 1/2 mile from the gulf and it got scary for a bit. I felt terrible for those people who's homes were damaged. Glad to see that you made out ok.

We were ok, but east of my mom's place was hit pretty hard with an F2 tornado. It was just surprising that we had weather like that on Christmas. I'm glad you guys were ok, too.

Glad to see that you both are OK. It is scary that we had that kind of weather on Christmas.

Balletto 12-27-2006 01:54 PM

Yeah, we were told all week the keys were going to get pounded on Christmas Eve and Christmas day but it didnt actually hit us until around 4pm Christmas day. But when it hit, it was horrible.

Lightning was striking trees and poles and my mom's house is literally where the Gulf and Atlantic meet and the ocean was red from the sky and looked to be on fire... it was awe inspiring but scary at the same time. Being away for so long, I forgot how volatile the storms can be down here.

2Hot4TV 12-27-2006 08:25 PM

Opening day at Santa Anita with my Daughter and a bunch of our friends that never go to the track. They managed to hammer 4 winners and everybody left with more money than they came with, except for Teddy. He never stopped eating for the whole 9 races and that's where his winnings went. Excellent Day.
