without speculating what Rene did...what are some past fractions thay have gotten jockeys barred? Will the jockeys guild step in and negotiate, meaning have they done something like that in the past? |
I have no idea. Anything would be speculation on my part and I don't want to do that.

fair enough...understandable.. |
it's awful IMO that the track would bar him publicly then refuse to say why, it always leads to speculation and gossip.
|
trust me HE KNOWS...you would think the atrab crew would know whats up...

To be fair, they may not have made an announcement, the story may have spread causing Mike Welsch to investigate.
I'm not saying that's the case but these stories make their way around the racetrack in a hurry. I imagine the reason will be out very shortly. |

In the recent past, Calder "ruled off" another jockey in the same manner. Apparantly it prevents the jockey from obtaining legal counsel in order to get an appeal on a stewards ruling. If I remember the details correctly, the other jockey that was ruled off in this manner did not perservere with his mount, thereby causing the order of finish to obviously be different.
Reading the charts (Douglas' mounts) for the past 4-5 days may shed some light on the facts. I don't feel that Calder does this without some merit. |
are you a brother of byk..dke...yikes..

Weird... he was the king of Calder when I worked there back in the early 90s, even winning seven on a day once. He's had a very rough patch recently, what with his brother dying of an overdose and his father battling illness. I can't imagine what he's done to cause Calder to do this, but if I know Ken Dunn it's not something to snivel at. And I'd go so far as to say it's got little to do with any kind of riding infraction as the races are governed by the FL Dept of Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Calder has to follow their procedures first.
It'll be interesting to see what shakes out in the next few days... |

Douglas Situation Update..
The Rene Douglas 'rule off' situation continues to evolve and it appears there may be a great deal of residual fallout to it... NO ONE, except Calder senior management and potentially those involved in the specifics, is prepared to reveal the motivations behind the action taken yesterday barring Douglas from the Miami oval...
With no details being released, rumors are rather rampant at Calder and beyond, but strong suggestion has been made that what is behind the ban of Douglas has nothing to do with his work at the CDI-owned circuit.. There are a number of potentially accurate details in this that have come forward, but until a quoteable on-the-record source is willing to provide specific details, it appears idle to speculate further... More if and when it comes our way.. (Dixie knows though, so you may want to contact him for the story...) |

I called my guy friend at Calder and he really had no idea what had happened which shocked me because usually hes got the info on everything. Said the same thing as you, that so many rumors were flying around that it was impossible to tell which were right and which were bull****. |
Spoke to his agent danny today but Im sworn to keep it under a hush. Real interesting story though.

From Bay Meadows track conditions to Pletcher's suspension. From Douglas's ban to a "sure thing" chalk at Hawthorne. Coast to Coast. Border to Border. He knows it all. |
I just spoke to Rene....even he doesn't know what this is about...but he did say that Dicksie knew.....he always knows. Apparently, and I don't think this will come as a surprise to anyone, his UFO picks up EVERYTHING.
Oh, wait, I forgot to add, his agent said he has no idea who the Bid is but if he did he wouldn't have told him the story. |

I'm now "in the know" also.
the cashier at the car wash this morning has a sister who lives in Miami. Her best friend works at a place where friends of Rene's used to hang out. Got the whole story from this guy. i did promise not to say a word though. sorry all... my word is my bond. |

Alright, I got the story.....he was banned because it was discovered that he is actually Dixie.

So are you saying that Rene Douglas has an imaginary friend named BOBBY too? |

At least "The Bid' actually works in this game and has accomplished things within it.
Those who can do, those who can't talk about the people who do. I don't doubt that he does know what the story is, and I ca see where it rub people the wrong way to say I know but can't tell. But give me the opinions and info of people like Outofthebox, Cannon Shell, Richi, and The bid any DAY over the folks who aren't in the game. Those guys are actually players. |
