LSU vs. ND

I am lookin to unload on LSU. Any opinions on which way the line will move if at all? Right now it is LSU-8. Thanks KP

Scav 12-05-2006 09:21 AM

I doubt it goes lower, even though ND money hasn't come in yet. Sharps are all over LSU.

with it being 8, you are ok becuase it will move to only 8.5, which is really no difference then 8, or it could go down to 7.5, which again makes little difference.

I would still wait till close to game time so someone doesn't get hurt on you or one of the coaches goes and tries to prove a point by suspending their best freshman or something

saucon17 12-05-2006 09:26 AM

I'm thinking line will go up. The bettors are going to see that LSU played in
toughest conference and they are battle tested and beat a good Arkansas
team in final regular season game and this also home game palying in the Superdome. Notre Dame only played 4 quality teams and the two hardest games against Michigan and USC that got drilled. The only chance ND has is Brady Quinn has to have a great game and the Defense have to play excellent game. If they Don't I see JaMarcus Russel and the LSU offense just running all over ND.

oracle80 12-05-2006 09:28 AM

I wouldn't expect any moves more than a half a point on these games, if even that, until the day of the games.
Heavy money will not be in until then. They will wait to see gametime eather conditions and look at the always dangerous suspension angles.
Lots of players in recent years have found trouble in the break with the law or violation of team rules.
The sharpies who saw value on the opening number have already sent it in, and the rest will wait until game day.
LSU should win this game but I think the number is a bit high.
I watched LSU play 4 times this year and they never looked like a good team to play laying a lotta lumber. They failed to cover against Bama and Miss, and lost two games outright.
ND will basically look to open up the offense and help Quinn shine as he enters the draft.
This game looks like a no bet to me.

LSU will romp over the Fighting Irish FRAUDS! :D

I know... believe me, I had a strong feeling that USC was going to get beat by UCLA, but I never felt strongly about the Gators beating Arkansas. It was crazy how things ended up on Saturday.

gales0678 12-05-2006 10:50 AM

one thing you have to factor in when you lay 8.5 with LSU in this game is that iti s Les Miles vs Charlie Weis

I know the athletes win the game, but, Myles with this team s/b undefeated - no excuses for them to not be in the BCS Game this year.

Take LSU at your own risk - better players , but , better coach on the other side

Nascar1966 12-05-2006 05:35 PM

First off Notre Dame doesn't even deserve to be in this game. Its a shame a much better Wisconsin team got screwed over by a wannabe team who cant win on the field. The two chances the wannabe's had they got their @sses handed to them by more than 17 points. Brady Quinn will be crying Mommy Mommy when the LSU defense is breathing down his @ss. Im sure Notre Dame is crying foul because this is technically a home game for LSU. I wasn't going to watch Notre Dame's bowl game, now I think I will just to see how many times Brady Quinn is down on his @ss. I think the over/under for sacks by LSU will be 3 1/2.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danzig 12-05-2006 05:46 PM

oh, i'll risk it alright!!

lsu will hand the irish their behinds. notre dame is named differently, and no sugar for them. it's ridiculous that they get this bowl to begin with.

and isn't it wisconsin that will face the arkansas razorpiglets?

go wisconsin.

Actually I think noone at Nd is crying. What they are doing is salivating at thought of Jimmy Clausen coming to ND next year(tough luck there Pete Carroll, guess 4 years of attempting to get the best qb prospect in years who played in your back yard didn't work, so sad for you, lol) as well as being moved to the number one ranked recruiting class for this year by ESPN(pushed past Texas).
Hey USCrules, if Carroll is such a "genius" how did he let Clausen slip out of USC's reach?

uscrules 12-05-2006 05:58 PM

The only game that matters is the Fiesta Bowl for the championship. None of the others matter squat. Its kind of like the losers of the wildcard round playing each other. Means nothing. I hope Florida beats the Yuckeyes. Their almost as dispicable as Notre Dame.

IrishofNDMan 12-05-2006 06:12 PM

Notre Dame will come to play and beat LSU. LSU being 8 pt favorites is CRAZY!! Are you kidding me??? The line should be off. ND is gonna win this game folks!!

GO IRISH!!!!!!!

The real shocker will be when Brady Quinn is announced Heisman on Saturday!

YADA YADA YADA...Jimmy Clausen for the 2007 Heisman!!!! (not) Apparently Mr Carroll is more humble than you....he's moving ahead..how about you?

LOL, he already won 4 I heard.

A.) ND fans have short memories, see Ron Powlus
B.) Two brothers, Casey & Rick....really lived up to their billing
C.) Zack Frazier will have something to say about the starting job next year
D.) He's a man among boys, i.e. will be a 20yr old frosh
Jimmy Clausen started kindergarten at six and repeated sixth grade "to gain maturity" his mother was quoted as saying. Which means, to the best of my calculations he's 18 in eleventh grade (his teammates tease him about his age). Now I don't know anything about the Clausen family except what I've read in the linked article, but I have a few questions

The kid is good, but he's playing in a prep school that basically recruits the best athletes....let him get to college first....

He got beat by ND for the guy you wanted badly. narrowed it down to two schools and he got beat.
Hey, you got Booty anyway, LOL!!!

USC wanted him just like others did, it won't spoil their party. They'll have another top 1 or 2 recruiting season and life will go on...it usually does

Hickory Hill Hoff 12-05-2006 08:33 PM

Too many points (8.5), LSU wins in a close one.

Nascar1966 12-05-2006 09:10 PM

IrishofNDman,

Quinn getting the Heisman? Makes me wonder what you are smoking or snorting. He choked in his two big games this year. If he played more real teams and did something, maybe he would get the Heisman. Him and the team have something in common. THEY ARE BOTH OVER HYPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GEAUX TIGERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ddthetide 12-05-2006 09:12 PM

IF Lsu play up to thier potential this WON"T be close. nd thinks they got kicked around by michigan, wait until they get a BIG dose of bayou bengals.
Lsu offensive and defensive lines are as-good, if not better than michigan's. they are faster, on both sides of the ball.

Thats pretty funny.

As for the game, I think people are seriously discounting Dame's chances to at least cover the line. LSU hasnt been great against the pass this year.

When you have a ND fan as a friend you keep a ton of material on hand just in case!

I don't know how I feel this one, I honestly just haven't watched LSU that much and don't know what they can do on offense. The one game I did watch they really didn't impress me on offense which makes me tend to agree about the spread.

IrishofNDMan 12-06-2006 10:53 AM

Go Irish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IrishofNDMan 12-06-2006 10:56 AM

Here is why Notre Dame is going to win the game:

LSU has a good defense, but Notre Dame has one of the best Offenses in the Country.

Notre Dame has a not so good defense, but LSU lacks a really explosive offense, the kind which has burned Notre Dame this year.

Brady Quinn will go out a winner, and he will make sure that ND does not lose this game. This guy is the best college football player. ND may not have lived up to all their hype this year, but this guy sure did. He will be missed next year at ND. That type of talent doesn't come around a lot, and hopefully Claussen can be the next!

Brady Quinn? LMFAO!!! The Fighting Irish Frauds will get their a$$es handed to them. Trust me...

The only reason ND got this game is they will fill up hotels and spend money. They have one of the largest alumni following of any college football team. If the Sugar Bowl was sure they could get Wisconsin fans to the game and that they would spend money Wisc. might have had a chance.

One of the same reasons Texas played Michigan in the Rose Bowl two years back. Cal cant bring the fans and the $. Texas and Notre Dame not only have a large alumni following the alumni are filthy rich that will travel and spend money at hotels and in the city at bars, rest... etc...
I have been in the Longhorn Club (with my now deceased father;Real-estate attorney); I have never seen such arrogance and downright excessive display of wealth in all my life by thousands of club members. Made me sick. So it is possible to like a football team and hate a large majority of your fellow alumnists.

Did you go to the Texas/UM Rose, quite a game. Everyone that I heard from had a blast and came back adoring the Texas fans.

You're not correct about Wiscy though, they couldn't go because the BCS has a clause no more than 2 teams from on conference can go to BCS games in the same year....so they were screwed. They do travel well, they'll be their in droves in Orlando.

And I will be pulling for them... they had an excellent season. I doubt the Pigs will beat them.

IrishofNDMan 12-06-2006 12:17 PM

Frauds, you wanna talk Frauds??? How bout the Gators getting into the Championship game because Urban Meyer decided to bend over for all the BCS people. I hate Michigan, but they would destroy Florida. Chris Leak is a terrible QB!!! Florida has no right in the Fiesta Bowl, and will get run off the field by Ohio State. I would take LSU over Florida, the Gators are a joke and so is the SEC!

My whole family went to UT (I was the first of my siblings). My brother and sister went to both Rose Bowls. I prefer the tube. My brother said the shock on the USC fans faces was like nothing he has ever seen before. He said the closest thing he can remember was the shock Nebraska fans showed when we first entered the Big 12 and beat them on their home field (first time they had been beaten by a conf. foe at home in eons), but the USC fans went totally silent. He said they were not mean, or disappointed, just flat-out stunned.
My bro will travel for UT. I like the telly.
My bro will also make stupid bets on UT so I got to redirect him. We take on mighty Iowa in the Alamo Bowl, in San Antonio where I live. I will watch and my brother is coming in from Arizona to go to the game. Silly man.

one more thing, when women try to talk football, you let it go in one ear and out the other because it has NO meaning and carries NO weight!

Notre Dame is the biggest joke of a football team I've ever seen! They'll be DESTROYED by LSU. The SEC is the best conference there is... toughest schedule and better teams as a whole throughout the conference.

By the way, I agree about Chris Leak... he sucks and I can't wait until he's gone, but IF he decides to play on January 8th, you might be surprised by the Gators!

Your signature line speaks wonders... sounds like Notre Dame... although they'll be unlucky to meet LSU in the Sugar Bowl... :D
