Hotel Grand Youthful Cimyla Ashdown Express Paradise Isle Expensive * * * Other news..... Ace was a good third. Hooray!!! :) Satish Seemar suffered double heartache in the two big races at Abu Dhabi on Sunday, after finding just one too good in both National Day Cup races. The master of Zabeel saddled National Captain and Ace to finish second and third behind King Jock in the Listed race for thoroughbreds. And earlier, Velte ran a great race on his seasonal bow to finish second in the Group One equivalent for Purebred Arabians. "The horses ran very well, and obviously went close to repeating last year, when we won both races," said Seemar. "I think Ace may have found this mile trip a bit sharp as he looks more of a 10-furlong horse, and also this was probably the sharpest track he's ever run on in his life. "We may look to run him in the carnival on January 25, or before in the Jebel Ali Stakes [on December 22]. The horses mentioned are intriging. I'd just caution that in light of current circumstances, it is not advisable for Americans to go to Dubai.
Conflict in the area could be tragic for those with a primary interest in horse racing. Sad to say. http://www.thestar.com/News/article/167010 |

Thanks for checking. I was just giving a "heads up", as Dubai is majority Sunni. Mine was not a formal warning, rather for informative purposes based on current events. Good luck to those that decide to go. |

Noseda is sending down Bustin Justin, Country Song and Mac Love down on Sunday. The last named could prove to be profitable to follow. He loves very quick ground and can run well from 6-8f. he hasnt won since sept 2004, but has run quite well since. the change of trainer could spark him into action

Not winning since '04 doesn't matter to me (... think Ace).:) |

From Racing Post.....
Discreet Cat may be first choice for Cup by Tony Elves UAE Discreet Cat could emerge as the most likely contender from Godolphin for the Group 1 Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba on March 31. The Forestry colt is unbeaten in six starts and, after winning a conditions event over 1m at Nad Al Sheba last March, went on to capture the 1m1f UAE Derby on World Cup night, when the richest race in the world was won by trainer Saeed Bin Suroor for a fifth time with Electrocutionist. Discreet Cat was campaigned back in the US for his final three races of 2006, but showed his ability to compete at the highest level when landing the Grade 1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct in November by three and a quarter lengths from Badge Of Silver. Simon Crisford, racing manager to Godolphin, said: “Discreet Cat has been put in the Dubai World Cup, and has been put in the Sprint and Mile as well. “We have got to see how he is over the next month before we begin to formulate any plans. He’s just got in from America and is settling back into his routine here at the moment. “Discreet Cat is the only provendirt horse we have in the race – the others are all turf horses who will also have entries in races such as the Sheema Classic.” http://www.racingpost.co.uk/news/mas...ational%20Zone |

Mullins Bay and Drayton for Mike De Kock - 2 good ones!!
|
I´ve been away from this board from a long time!....sorry about that :-)
Tomorrow starts the Dubai Racing Carnival....and I confess that brazilian horses have one of their best animals out there this year... Tomorrow, they are: 2nd race - Alto Taquari; 3rd race - Comandante Xará, Te Voglio Bene and Vampiro; 4th race - Estrela Brynhil (USA bred, but raced here in Brazil), Nhecolândia and Indochine; 5th race - Oakfast, Alcomo and Leaving Alone; 6th race - Evil Knievel; 7th race - Bandido Secreto, Impossible Ski and Lucky Dance They are too many to talk one by one, but you shoul watch mainly, i think: Alto Taquari (very talented colt); Comandante Xará and Vampiro (very good animals on the dirt); Estrela Brynhil (incredible inprovemente in her last 2 races, and people from the inside tell that she has broken some track records on her workouts); Indochine and Nhecolandia (also respectable fillies); Oakfast (very fast front running horse...and very talented, too); Evil Knievel (best older horse here in Brazil 2 years ago...participated in last year's racing carnival and I don't know his condition any more...but, in shape, excelent horse) and Bandido Secreto (The best brazilian TURF miler....but only when the grass is dry and he can race without shoes!...won the São Paulo State's International Mile and got 2nd behind Top Hat when this last broke 10f. turf world record...less than 2 lenghts behind him, i think) Let's see!! Bye! |
I forgot about Imperialista in the 7th race, too...i think he is also entered...and he is specialist on the dirt...very good horse too.
Does anybody know where can I get the official entries?? I only could get in the site (www.dubairacingclub.com) last year's entries. Thanks! |
Quote:
about Evil Knievil, to your knowledge has he been racing in Brazil this year? The last race that he had in Dubai was in March. Just trying to know if he has any current form. thanks, |
Quote:
Evil Knievil remained in training in Dubai this year, to my knowledge... At least, in Brazil, he didnt run since August 2005. |
I dont know if anybody here will follow Dubai's races this year, but watch these 2 brazilian jockey:
Marcelo Cardoso (the one who did this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYPXlmOnhxY that I posted on previous topics...he did one almost like that 2 weeks later again) and; Altair Domingos...extremely talented...one of the 2 or 3 brazilian best jockeys...better than M. Cardoso imo. |
Quote:
|
Alto Taquari got 6th place;
Vampiro, the best of of the 3 brazilian in this race, didnt start; Indochine won her race...while Estrela Brynhild failed... Waiting for the next couple of races... |
What do you think about Lucky Dance, Imperialista, and Impossible Ski?
|
Quote:
Impossible Ski is a very, very good dirt specialist....but I think this distance is too short for him; Imperialista is better suited for this distance and surface than the other 2...he raced here 4 times on the dirt....with very good results and with some strong horses...but i think the field is too strong for him too.... My favourite of the brazilian animals is Bandido Secreto by far....i am sure he is the most talented...but we know that a trip to Dubai is not only about talent....but the horse's condition too... Only in my opinion....if it was a race in Brazil on this distance and surface they should finish in this order: Bandido Secreto, Imperialista, Impossible Ski and Lucky Dance... I am risking about Bandido Secreto....mainly because here in Brazil he is a turf specialist.....but I've heard that he is very good on the dirt too! |
Brazilians arent just good at Soccer!!
