Secret Oath
Fun to see Lukas with such a nice filly late in his career. She has that big loping stride like her sire and covers a lot of ground.
I do have concern. She didn’t seem to switch leads properly and was on the wrong lead the entire stretch. Anyone else notice that? Concerned? |
Good catch, but she has done the same thing in all of her races, especially the ones she has won. She takes the lead turning for home, is on the wrong lead and makes her way down to the rail.
My concern is her rider is eventually going to get her beat. No need to get cute when you’re on much the best horse. Always good to see Lukas with a good one |

Like Da Hoss mentioned, she tends to drift towards the rail. Not for nothing, Eight Belles did the same to one degree or another in the Martha Washington, Honey Bee, and Fantasy. Could have been DQ'd in the latter. Similar physique and stride. Same sire line, too (Unbridled's Song). |

IMO she's a generational talent. |
Thank you baby Jesus for gracing us with Vic’s presence this morning!
|
Since I dont believe Songbird was a generational talent and since Secret Oak couldn't run within a pole of Songbird I guess I am going to need to see a much faster race before I believe she is all that and a bag of chips.

I took DrugS seriously after Rachel won the Martha Washington and he told me she was special, Vic not so much after the Honeybee. |

Having said that, I'd love for her to be that good. Nothing better than when Lukas has a really good one, because you know at the least we will get to see her run. |

There's something really wrong when horses like Secret Oath are referred to as a generational talent unless it's tongue in cheek. At this point she's a promising 3YO beating up on horribly overmatched horses, even more so than Songbird, who at least was a brilliant 2YO that never really progressed significantly but was still good enough to beat most of the horses she faced.
This has been an incredibly uninspiring crop of 3YO fillies, save Echo Zulu, so it's great to see someone else come along, but a little rational perspective wouldn't hurt. |

Luis Saez to ride Secret Oath in the Kentucky Oaks per Gabby Gaudet on Twitter.
|
Needed to happen.
|
Secret Oath v. Kathleen O. v. Echo Zulu v. Nest in the Kentucky Oaks.
Only thing better would have been Meadow Star v. Lite Light v. Dance Smartly v. Versailles Treaty in the 1991 Alabama. |

And if I was on set with him I wouldn't back down to his bullying. Period. I've suggested to NYRA they put us on together. Think it would be good theatre. NYRA isn't interested. |

I think it would make for pretty good TV. Oh well. God knows my golf game needs the work. |
Now might be a good time to remind you Vic that your co host blocked you on twitter

That was a gag we both pulled on each other. And we NEVER blocked each other. We unfollowed each other for a few days. |

Maybe pander less and work on your craft. That way you won’t get dragged on Twitter for being so fake. |

That’s my favorite line of yours. |

Do I make some mistakes? Sure, as does everybody. Can't please everyone but my Twitter responses this year have been mostly positive and supportive. |

If it makes you feel better to be mean. Have at it. It's clear it's not just me. You're terrible to everyone on this site. I expect that's why it doesn't get the exposure of some of the others. But if Steve doesn't care about your vitriol why should anyone else? |

Your twitter responses…..LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL |

You're just one angry guy. Why does it mean I have a HUGE EGO because I think I'm good at what I do? I've been able to eek out a living in this business for 40 years. How bad can I suck? |

The subtle shot at Steve is nice though. You’re just a scumbag Vic. Always have been. You have always been able to fool the low hanging fruit but not much past that. I’m the real fan you covet Vic. I’ve been following and betting on this sport for almost 30 years man. And I see through your bullish.it. Like many do. And that will always bother you. Nearly every post you make on message boards is either all about you or self promoting. Why is that? |
Quote:
The fact you don’t see how ridiculous it is for someone to speak of themselves like that, there’s nothing that could help. You’re too old to realize that some self awareness would help. |

You're just one angry guy. Kinda sad truthfully. In and amongst all the hate I see bits and pieces of someone who has some interesting opinions about our sport. |
Quote:
Sorry, but asking people to rationally defend opinions is not bullying. It's expecting a level of performance that racing fans deserve. I get it, you don't think racing fans deserve quality. I do. We'll have to agree to disagree on that issue. Glad you made your position clear. |

People that actually know me don’t think I’m angry. Then again…I don’t feel the need to pander to people online. I’m not trying to boost my ego with the opinions of strangers. That’s all on you big guy. Kinda sad truthfully. I see why your buddy Mountainman does it. He’s a nobody. You’re actually a name in this industry so to see you do it is really pathetic. |
