SCUDSBROTHER 11-16-2006 06:26 PM

Well,he didn't get as close to winning with Maemy as Garcia did 2 weeks ago(against the same winner as today.)People aren't blind to that.He gets to hustling harder,or he is out like Arroyo. He has some chances Saturday n'Sunday. If he doesn't win a race by Sunday evening than he is toast, and might as well hop a plane back for the start of the inner course meet.

Let me start by saying I am very biased on this topic. First, I am a monster fan of Migliore, both personally and professionally. I have always considered it an honor and a privilege to know him. Second, he has one edge that I think is a huge one (although I am not sure if it could potentially be a negative as I am not in that end of the business) -- and that's Ron Anderson. Third, Richie is an extremely "intelligent" jockey -- one of the smartest jockeys on the track anywhere. He has ridden for me and called audibles -- 3 steps out of the gate -- that were incredible. He is a true student of the game. He also has an incredible passion for the game.

Anyway, it's not like Jerry Bailey or Edgar Prado is heading out there for a meet or two. I had thought it would take time for him to even get mounts -- and while I didn't see the races, the first three mounts he had were 10-1 and 20-1 ML's I think. I haven't checked the results or entried in a few days but I will. It takes time to build business anywhere unless you already have clients there, or someone asked you to come out there and ride for them.

I for one am rooting for him -- always.

Eric

blackthroatedwind 11-16-2006 07:40 PM

I haven't spoken to him since last Friday, before his first mount, but he was very upbeat and optimistic. He said he had been getting on a lot of good horses in the mornings, meeting a lot of people who were very favorable, and he understood it would take a little while before he would be able to build up his business. Working with Ron will be good and I will be surprised if good things aren't happening for him soon.

I know I'll be rooting hard for him.

SCUDSBROTHER 11-16-2006 08:23 PM

I think most everybody out here hopes he does well.I am just saying the reality of the situation is that if you own a lazy filly like this Maemy, you're gunna want the weight break back(with Garcia.) I mean,ya got a guy who can ride great, and he has a weight break (still.)I can't really make a case for passing on him for somebody who has to carry full weight. Not unless it is a top 3 type jock.Lets face it,smart guy, or not,you have one agent with 2 jocks. One jock is riding 3/1 shots atleast 4 or 5 times a day,and the other is lucky to ride 1 mount a day. That would be tough for Jesus himself to be able to handle. We will see what happens. He needs some Eastern trainers to start running more horses here. When the hell is Dutrow gunna run more horses? So far,he hasn't run many(both tanked at low odds.)O'neil will help anybody out,but that guy is a particularly nice guy.Hess is another nice guy,but like I said,he has to listen to his owners(because he doesn't have the results that Oneil has.)

Whatever happened to Arroyo? Is he hurt or suspended?

The Bid 11-17-2006 10:23 AM

Probably suspended again. No rider in the country is as careless and dangerous as him

Really? Care to back that up or are just taking the usual internet shot?

Please, let us know about his recent suspensions. I'm eager to hear.

The Bid 11-17-2006 10:49 AM

Has he ever been suspended? Why did he leave NY, how many horses did he get DQ'd down before he left. How many careless riding infractions has he had? You dont think hes a careless rider? Maybe we are talking about a different guy then.

You're the person who made the remark. Why don't you back it up....otherwise it appears to be just more garbage being spewed on the internet.

You said " no rider in the country is as careless and dangerous as him ".

The onus is on YOU to give us examples.

See, I can say, The Bid is a reckless poster who makes comments without any facts to back them up. When asked for an example, I will use this thread.

What examples can you give?

The Bid 11-17-2006 11:01 AM

BTW

Im sure I am correct. I would appreciate you looking it up, I simply dont have the kind of time on my hands that you do. Hes extremely careless and dangerous when riding

Now you shill for Norberto Arroyo too?

How many guys have their appeal and wind up with 15 days up from 10?

IN THE MATTER OF NORBERTO ARROYO
The Board approved Hearing Officer Baller's recommendation that the decision of the State Steward that Norberto Arroyo committed careless riding during the running of the ninth race at Aqueduct Racetrack on March 11, 2004, in violation of Board Rule 4035.2 be affirmed. The Board modified the ten-day license suspension imposed by the State Steward to be a fifteen-day license suspension based on Mr. Arroyo's history of repeated violations and the need for deterence in order to better assure safety and the confidence of the wagering public.

How's Beyer holding up?

The Bid 11-17-2006 11:04 AM

Thanks Sent. I remember him getting 2 stakes horses brought down on one weekend. Anyone know those off the top of your heads.

His ride in the Campbell was as disgraceful as Coa's ride at Gulf one year when he tried to send Bailey over the hedge. Bridgmohan is very luck to be alive or not in a wheelchair.

OK, I am officially the idiot of this thread.....I thought you were talking about Mig.

I apologize....I was totally wrong and out of line.

The Bid 11-17-2006 11:07 AM

You get 5 rattles, no you get 5 "banging spoons on the high chair tray," the most coveted of all.

That would have to be considered relative considering yesterday's activity.

SentToStud 11-17-2006 11:15 AM

if memory serves, Migliore did get days for a ride in the Ky Derby 4-5 years a go. Horse was Wheelabid, or something like that. I don't remember if it stuck or got overturned on suspension. They all get days at some point. Love the Mig.

absolutely true...LOL.
Mike, you were nowhere near the top of the idiot heap yesterday! that space was firmly held by another poster.

Well maybe not but I was awfully red faced when I realized I had bashed the wrong guy, and minutes later rooted him home in the 8th race. What are the odds of that? erroneously bashing a guy for a ride he didn't give and badmouthing him and then rooting him home minutes later.
I wanted to crawl underneath a rock.

Oaktree 10/27 race 8 #6 Phantom Gray

He would almost of had to get days for this ride, and then he just decided to take off for New York. His agent dumped him for Patrick in mid October. So,I can't hold it against him for wanting to go.The head-on of this race will fit well on any Holiday Family Video.
