Ok I Have Had Enough

If you are for or against what I am saying please be aware of this following disclaimer - this is just me releasing some pent up frustration.

Enough already with the Bernardini this Bernardini that. Invasor won, looks like they will retire Dini, on to something else. Good grief.

Anyone else just, be honest, tired of all this talk about a horse that got beat in the BCC? Lets move on man, ya feel what I am saying?

jpops757 11-06-2006 05:28 PM

Some very nice races. Very good performances by the winners.I lost money but enjoyed the races. I was saddened by the accident. Lets turn the page . We can look forward for the early season at GP FG and a little later Oaklawn. With the strong performances of the 3yr olds it looks like the handicap division could be a very competetive division at all the distances.

Danzig 11-06-2006 05:49 PM

better enjoy all the post-race analysis while you can...bound to get dead around here soon enough with a dearth of racing in the forecast.

the usual late fall/winter semi-hiatus is the reason for my 'signature'.

pmayjr 11-06-2006 06:05 PM

I'm still fascinated that you guys can't make do with a bunch of 5kN2L races until Gulfstrean starts up. Mountaineer, Hoosier, Chuck-town... those are where I thrive.

Al I'm gonna say about 'Dini. It had nothin to do with heart or lack there-of. He looked pretty f'n impressive for 9/10s of that race before Invasor came barreling home. He was just better, Heart had nothin to do with it. I could run with all my heart vs Car Lewis in the 100 yard dash, but I won't ever beat him. Sometimes the other competitor is just better. Bring on Discreet Cat.

Thank you. Anyone who is saying anything about Bernardini losing due to a lack of heart should be shot.

that's as bad as hutchinsons pal down here saying if you aren't a razorback fan you're a communist. apparently i was unaware that i was a commie. glad it's been set straight for me.

Well hes either got no heart or hes nowhere near as good as Invasor is or as good as everyone said he was, its gotta be one or the other.
Know who oughta be shot? Anyone who ever dared compare him to Ghostzapper.
Ghostzapper would have urinated on him and left him a mile behind. I saw Ghostzapper, and Bernadini is no Ghostzapper.

Danzig 11-06-2006 06:31 PM

he was good, pretty good. but not a freak or a superhorse. he was not as bad as some are now saying, certainly not as good as others claimed he was...as for GZ, apparently those were the good old days, when a horse ran more than one year.

So let me get this straight, because he lost by A LENGTH to Invasor, he's "nowhere near as good as Invasor"? Hmm..

Unbelievable.

When Ghostzapper was around, all anybody could do was bitch and whine about how he only ran four or five races a year. Now those are the good old days.

Zieg I'm just catching up on the board now but this is a stone cold riot!!! LOL!!!
I'm reading all these posts by delusional people who are explaining like he didn't really lose or that hes still just as good as advertised, and then they are getting mad at folks telling it like it is?
Lemme see if I got this figured out Zieg, apparently Bern is still just as good as Spectacular Bid or Ghostzapper, so I guess that makes Invasor a real life version of the fabled Pegasus, the horse with wings who could fly.
This is absolutely the funniest thing I ever saw in my life, truly.
Fact is he wasn't even Barbaro, and had Barbaro not been injured he would have bitch slapped him as well.
Invasor will now forever me my favorite horse of all time, replacing Personal Ensign, for had it not been for Invasor we'd have listen to delusinal rantings about this "best horse who ever looked through a bridle" for years.

well, i was one of those. hard to believe NOW, after looking back, that THEN was the good old days, huh? and we all just have to suck it up and be happy about it, not like we can do a damn thing about a horse running one year and gone. or three races a year. i think it stinks, and if you don't understand that i was being sarcastic, i don't know what to say.

You are right. Bernardini raced more than 2.6x in a year and was a 3yr old. Ghostzapper is the most overrated horse in the last decade. The horse had a grand total of 1 win at 10f or longer in an entire career. 3 at 9f or longer. Wow. That is great. A career with 3 wins at 9f or longer.

In 4 seasons Ghostzapper raced 11 times. What a champion. LOL.

no, the funniest argument i've seen so far is that the beyers are a fraud. that bernardini didn't run his usual race...it's all a big conspiracy. bernardini ran his usual race, which was good--but the competition this time was better--a LOT better. puts bernardinis year into perspective. i really feel better now about all the sh!t i took all year about 'not being a fan' when i said wait til he's done. well, he's done, and he's as good as i thought he was. and not as great as others thought.

Lee Harvey Oswald made the beyer figures, lol.
I tried to tell everyone, and posted it one thousand times, but noone gets it or at least very few get it.
Ragozin did a study years ago, found horses ALWAYS ran their lifetime best numbers in "easy wins". The whole fallacy(cough cough Eurobounce, revolution, Betsy, ahem) that a horse who wins with no pressure could go faster is exactly that, a total fallacy. Its a lot harder to run fast when someone gets in your face. And I personally don't think that him not being as good as Invasor is the only issue, he didn't even offer token resistance when eyeballed, he surrendered in a fashion that would make even the French Army proud. I predicted he was a bully who when eyeballed would fold all year long, and I posted it a thousand times. He got eyeballed, and he didn't even try to fight back.

yeah, i know it....the whole handridden easily thing. i tried as well, others did too. everyone has to find out on their own i guess. you see horses win a race after setting quick early fractions...then next time out, they set the same fractions and fold and people are surprised--but that next time, they weren't alone on the lead. energy exerted when another horse is beside them is not the same as when they're alone. time might be the same, but the horse IS working harder. and it shows at the end.

i can't believe that the horse was set at even money, and i can't believe anyone would single him. and i really, really, can't believe that anyone really feels bernardini didn't run his race. he did. but it was against seasoned veterans, some of the best in the world.
and i really expected a response when invasor came up on him. i wanted to see a fight to the wire. didn't happen.

Actually I knew it was over turning for home. I could see that Jara had a handful and the biggest tipoff was that he didn't angle even wider on the turn and panic and go full bore. He waited until they were straightened away and when he threw that first cross you could see Invasor just attack.
I was screaming loudly"The paper tiger is DONE!!!!" over and over again before he even actually collared him because there was no doubt in my mind he was gonna go by.
Whats sickening is that anybody is even attempting to make an excuse fro bern. Had he won the race we'd have to listen to how he was the greatest horse ever, blah blah blah just like we just did for 3 months. Yet Invasor wins 4 grade ones in 4 US starts at 4 different racetracks, including a BC where he was forced to miss his last and very important prep and he still crushed them. Where is the love for this horse and the fine job that Kiarin Mclaughlin and his staff did? Are you ****ing kidding me? I mean, everyone gushes over Albertrani all year long, and he gets to get his prep race in unhindered while kiarin has to sit with Invasor(due to the cough:rolleyes: ) and hes gotta train up a horse who hasn't run since the frigging first week of August, and he doesn't get the love? Imagine anyone having the nerve to call me biased when its pretty obvious that you only get love on here if someone knows you personally and thinks you are cool. No unbiased objective guy making an analysis would call what Kiarin and Invasor did anything short of spectacular. Kiarin deserves major props.

kieran did an excellent job, as did jara. i know a couple weeks ago, some said he shouldn't be on for the big day. but i knew he'd do ok. invasor is good, he'd have to be to have the year he's had--and all this after shipping up from the souther hemi, and then to dubai and back. some of our cupcakes over here would never be seen again after shipping 'round the world and back like that. been high on him all year, and i've been kicking myself for not getting a bet on him at that price!! damned rules in this state....

i thought songster was your favorite....lol..he dini didint spit the bit when challenged.....you and your gut check bs is laughable..he made his run to early..and jara made his at the right time..thats it....the fact that he skipped the prep to this made alot of sense..he had a fresh horse..congrats to invasor...but hes not any better than a lenth..at least on this day..sun king who got to invasor late ..where was he..

Who the F yells "the paper tiger is DONE!" during a horse race?

Better question may be who the F would understand what the guy yelling that meant?

So let me get this straight, because he lost by A LENGTH to Invasor, he's "nowhere near as good as Invasor"? Hmm..

The way I saw the race was the Bernardini got BEAT a lenght and that was with Invasor giving him 4 pounds.

and had invasor lost a lot of us would have said it was because he needed a race....how many times does a horse lose off a layoff and it's 'oh, he needed that one'....

it was a good race, for sure. i think maybe javvy moved too soon, but then again....who's to know for sure? hell, worked in all his others. he was usually clear long before the top of the stretch.

wonder where DC woulda finished....i read much of the year where henny and discreet were both faster figure-wise than bernie...fat lot of good it did henny tho.

Okay, before you talk out of your ass again you might want to make sure that your mouth is on the same page. This is what you typed a few months ago. A little inconsistent? A LOT inconsistent? Your quote in reference to mineshaft:

He beat what was thrown at him. Normally I would challenge who a horse beat, but like bernadini you have to look at how easy teh wins are and the sheet number they ran. The number will tell you that it really wouldnt have mattered who they faced, they woulda won anyway. Its not like Mineshaft was winning races by a head or a neck, see the difference?

Pick a side, buddy. Either Bernardini was an overrated piece of **** or he was awesome for running second to a monster like Invasor. You don't get to denigrate Bernardini until the cows come home, then talk up Invasor. It doesn't work like that.

If Jara had so much horse, how is it that a lack of heart was what did in Bernardini? Which ****ing one is it? Either Invasor was tons the best and Bernardini ran huge as well or they both are slow!

And yeah, unbiased is definitely a word I would use to describe you. The guy who has never seen Pletcher or Dutrow or anybody he thinks he knows make a bad move ever. The guy who's done everything but sneak into Bernardini's barn and poison him at night. You're unbiased. You've been sucking Dutrow off for years and recently started on the Pletcher bandwagon because you "know" them, but now, no one else is allowed to do the same after they get to know Albertrani. You're a total hypocrite.

Aren't you the man, too, for shouting "The paper tiger is done!" I'm sure you were the toast of the town and looked just as cool and sane as you always do when watching a race..

Ah yes, another postrace genius. I'm sure if the horse had won by 10, you'd still be criticizing anyone who bet him at even money or singled him.

All of this lack of heart stuff is absolute nonsense. If it hadn't been Bernardini on the rail, but Lava Man or one of the other Derby Trail heroes, you'd all be singing the same tune, right? That he folded? Of course you would.

If sucking off means buying him some good horses including a grade one winner, yeah thats me, good luck accomplishing that some day Joey.
Todd's a pro and hes the best at what he does, read the paper.
Trainers aren't judged by how many sandwiches they buy, they are judged by how their horses perform in races. And thats a fact Jack.

If Jara had so much horse, how is it that a lack of heart was what did in Bernardini? Which ****ing one is it? Either Invasor was tons the best and Bernardini ran huge as well or they both are slow!

And I'm quite sure I never wished ill will or harm on Bernadini. You need to grow up "super moderator" and you damn well better take that accusation down, got it punk?
