Thanks.

Going to switch to Belmont and keep my fingers crossed for both of us. I’m not sure the 1 has done enough to warrant being below even money. He will probably like the switch to turf...but who knows. I’ll take a chance on the 8 at 18-1. That’ll look nice in the P5 if he can get it done.

Same. I don’t think many people saw the 2 taking it. But I guess longshots are to be expected in that type of race.

I kept trying to put a tri or super together and kept coming up with all in the 3rd and 4th spot....I had a sinking feeling CBs FTS would somehow slide in the mix

Im tired of 3 out of 4 pick fours. I should have singled bad boy Leroy like I wanted to

Just an observation Knicks, I hope it helps.

I, too, used to play horizontals using your exact style of play and a pre-determined budget. Find a single and 6x5x2or3or4. I had some success with it but lost out on some VERY nice scores because I refused to deviate from my predetermined approach. But someone on this board, I forget who, taught me that I should treat each sequence individually. Instead of my usual singling and spreading, some sequences could be hit going 3x3x3x4. Hell, some could be hit going 2 deep in each leg and pressed for $5 increment. Totally changed my outlook of both horizontal and vertical wagering. I was happy with my ‘single in first or last leg and cast a wide net in the other 3 or 4 legs’ approach right up until it became frustrating watching the 5-10k P4 payouts hit with me being 3 of 4. I scrapped my entire thought process and freshened up my handicapping. I indivualize each sequence now, sometimes still playing .50 base and with others the base increases, sometimes mightily. Not RHT mightily, but certainly more than 50 cents.

I know you’re one HELL of a handicapper and what I wrote here is obviously nothing new to you. jms plays (or played) his P5’s with a similar approach. Single first leg and go wide. Doesn’t hit often but when he DOES, look tf out!

Just some food for thought here. Nobody knows the value of your wagering dollar and how you like to use it more than yourself. I wish you and mostly all other DT’ers NOTHING but success at the highest level.
