i'm going in with some family and friends online for a pick-4 that totals about $400, and then I'm limiting my plays to a decent wps wager on mauralakana and a couple of 4-horse exacta boxes in races like the sprint and mile and classic.

all in all, personally i'll probably spend only about $170-200. I am going to be placing all my bets at the beginning of the day then spending the afternoon watching in my hotel room in chicago -- it's one of the days when i watch racing that i COULD bet lots, but i don't need to because it's such an entertaining day anyway.

Anywhere from $500 - $50,000 depending on how drunk I get.

randallscott35 11-01-2006 05:20 PM

You don't want to know.

intense 11-01-2006 05:25 PM

ah... I'll be sitting in my dorm room all day watching and betting online. Not sure how much i'll wager, probably around 300-400 but it all depends on if I can hit anything.

Im with you Joey....I am just hoping to break even on Saturday because I could really use the money:D

Thunder Gulch 11-01-2006 06:48 PM

Budgeting $100 per race...much of that will be in pools with my friends on Pick 3's and Pick 4 tickets.

That I do. Bet 5600 on the BC last year. Shooting for somewhere close to 7 this year. No guts, no glory.

disappearingdan_akaplaya 11-01-2006 09:14 PM

lol im nowhere in the ballpark of some apparently here. even tho i do have some extra money lately thanks to finishing 2nd in a big poker tournament online(outta1750) and only having to pay for my horse to stay ata farm as opposed to training at the track(about a quarter of the cost) ill go somewhere around my usual 250-300 when i make my bets in the morning on BC day, may we all profit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tanner12oz 11-01-2006 09:53 PM

Couldn't have been said any better....Both barrells loaded, even if the races are impossible

12 GAGE baby.....

(I just got down on some serious sheet reading, really pumped right now, so far, I don't like 1 single favorite besides Bern, probably tossing AraGONE and Fleet Rain Dance completely

Scav 11-01-2006 10:38 PM

If I am hot ride the train, if I am quiet, that means STAY AWAY....

repent 11-02-2006 12:52 AM

preliminary reports have it right around 2K.

friend and I just mapped out the basic structure of the pick 6 ticket at a very reasonable 360.

if I just stuck to that and pick 4s, I could get away really cheap.
but I know I will make w/p bets once I see where the odds are for the individual races.

best of luck to everyone.
I hate going deep in the Mile.
I told myself I would not.
but I cant get around it.
Dettori's decision on EOL mandates that.
