Surely Mother Jones or Daily Kos can really distort the truth for ya.

Fact - anyone earning less than 50K pay NO TAX.

Fact - Our former leader {CHORTLE} run up 10 Trillion in debt to produce 1% GDP growth.

Fact - The deficit needs to be adressed, entitlements need to be reexamined

Fact - the Tax Base needs to be broadened exponentially

Fact - this is a broad outline, to be modified and a final reform bill drafted in Congress. It may wind up looking very different from this, but I bet it will wind up being faily close

That is of course if you are not bought by special interests and have a stockpile of cash stocked away. Unfortunately this is not the case for most of the American Tax payers. Epic fail for all involved.

Thought you were above the Right v Left Gangwar and I know you are smart enough to realize both are corrupt. This Bill is nothing more than legislation written to maximize profits for the insurance industry and in all likelihood written by lobbyists for said Insurance industry. Ultimately we the middle class are the LOSERS here. Our rates will continue to go up and some on here pounding the tables to repeal Obamacare will have their rates Skyrocket. People kicked off the insurance roles or unable to afford insurance will continue to get care at Hospitals and Hospitals will raise their rates to cover losses from noninsured and underinsured. That will be passed on to us. Insurance company CEO's will continue racking in salary's and stock options in the tens to hundred million dollars off us. Yay Obamacare is no more Long Live Trumpcare.

I agree that both are corrupt, but at least the Republicans are trying to do something about it. What is clear is that the American public was lied to about Obamacare and that it is unsustainable. The burden has already been shifted to the middle class, at least those that don't work for the government or for someone who employs 50 or more employees.

My premiums have more than doubled under Obamacare. It costs almost as much as many Americans make in a single year. It is the highest cost of my business and difficult to pay every month. What drives me crazy is that the Democrats are not even pretending to work with the Republicans or put forth a solution themselves. How does that work for the American people they pretend to serve?

richard burch 06-29-2017 10:50 PM

I found this to be strange but, I was talking to someone who was trying to tell me that Obamacare was actually a Republican idea in some wacky way.

Any truth to that?

Some of Obamacare was similar to what Romney did with healthcare in Massachusetts. So I do think that some of the ideas came from Romney's plan. And I think it was republicans who originally came up with the idea of the mandate (people having to have health insurance).

So to answer your question, I would have to say "yes", there is "some truth" to the idea that some of what was in Obamacare was from things that republicans had done and/or suggested in the past. As surprising as this may be, this kind of stuff happens all the time in politics. One side of the aisle will be totally against something that was similar to something they favored when their guy was in office. For example, many dems are up in arms over Trump's travel ban, yet they had no problem with Obama's travel ban.

I personally couldn't care less who came up with an idea. If I think it is a bad idea I'm going to be against it regardless of who came up with it. If I think it's a good idea I'm going to be in favor of it.

The president of the United States just said on TV

"Let Obamacare fail"

Does he realize the millions of Americans that will destroy including millions those who voted him in? He is openly rooting for a result that hurts citizens of his own country cause he wants to be "Right". I guarentee you the parasitic insurance companies will most certainly take advantage of this. :wf so Sad it has come to Party over Country

I know you cannot possibly be this dumb. Recognizing of course that by their design and nature, libs are typically incapable of anything but linear thinking - I can only chalk this ridiculous reaction up to your personal hatred for the man.

NK right now has no fuc1<ing idea how President Trump will answer another missile test.

None.

When was the last time NK/Kim Jung Yun was on his heels? When Obama, Bush and Clinton broadcasted every single response to the point that he knew his provocations would be met with typical cuck lip service?

The Trump/Tillerson good cop/bad cop is a stoke of genius and likely the only way to get this clown to open his eyes and get him to the negotiation table. You answer bellicose rhetoric with strong tone and manner.

Something your hero failed at for 8 years.

That is unless you think paying bribes to a rouge nation is the answer, though we've seen how that works already with Iran.

You lost. America won.

Get over it.

Geesh with the name calling right off the bat. Just to be clear you want to compare Trump v Obama stock market performance? I will bet you $25,000 right here and now that when the race is over (Trump leaves office) that the S&P under Trump will not outperform the S&P under Obama. Remember you are the one with the chest thumping the stock market 6 months in not me. Welcome back I was worried about you. Maybe when you are at the NHC this year I'll buy you a burbon and you can remind me how stupid I am.

PS

I am a registered Republican and my voting record is

2016-Passed
2012-Obama (Couldn't support a guy who made his living shipping jobs overseas)
2008-Obama ( Huge McCain guy at the time but how could any rational American let Palin get within a heartbeat of being president)
2004-Kerry (This was more a vote against president Cheney (intentional))
2000-Bush
1996-Dole
1992-Bush I
1988-Bush I
1984-Reagan

Please reread - never called you dumb or stupid. Your post regarding the over/under till end times being 8 months and of course......wait for it....it being "All Trumps Fault" Is stupid, inaccurate, and melodramatic.

Knowing you are neither dumb nor stupid, I just chalked this post ( hell, this entire diatribe of a thread) up to your ceaseless, unhealthy hatred for the man.

Get some help, Jim. It's gonna be ok.

I'm just going to sit back and enjoy all the winning.

You do realize the 8 month comment was tongue in cheek right? As far as my unhealthy hatred I need to ask you a question since you spent 8 years in the same place compared to my 1 year. How long does it take to recover once the object of your disdan leaves office?
