Dang, I was hoping I wouldn't have to break out the winter clothes this year since moving to FLA....so much for that idea

It'll especially be nice and chippy on the backside at 6:30 in the morning when that cold breeze roars across that flat track and slaps me in the face....oh, how I don't miss Louisville :D

is Ocala really better than Louisville?
you couldn't pay me enough to live amongst those nasty FLA trailer ppl
yeah the weather is nice but basically it's a glorified leaper colony down there
don't forget about the clocks (fall bacK)
gonna be dark on that backside

Bold Reasoning 10-25-2006 05:48 PM

The forecast I saw only covers through Friday. It could be warm and sunny Saturday. I live in the Northeast, so the 50's is okay with me.:D

Ocala is slow, yes, but I just love this climate from being a southern boy....I was WAY out of my element last winter in Louisville - and I heard I was actually lucky because the winter was mild last year....mild my arse

I would go to work and never take my jacket off in the office and people thought I was crazy.....the hotter the better for me, man....

It was 92 degrees in Ocala over the weekend and I was loving every minute of it...people are still parading the beaches and that is the stuff I like to do. Plus, its REALLY nice to be able to enjoy a round of golf this time of year, and the locals at the Country Club I joined say that you can wear shorts in January when playing golf - I said, SOLD!

It is slow here coming from New Orleans and Louisville because of the size, but Gainesville is only 30 min. away and Tampa and Orlando are only like an hour to an hour and a half away. Plus, Daytona and other Atlantic beaches and most of the decent beaches on the gulf side aren't a far commute either way you want to go and that is my scene.....

I'm still convinced I was spawned from the Ocean and raised by Thoroughbreds :D

highs in the 50s all of next week was the report I got from a few peeps at Churchill....

Cajungator26 10-25-2006 07:18 PM

Yep, it'll be colder than a witch's titty up there... :D

mclem10011 10-25-2006 07:54 PM

Hope weather forcast improves......

Thanks for the weather update. Though I won't be there in person, I don't wish for a PISSY BC day! I'm sure the off track players are jumping for joy at the prospect of a slop fest! I for one, would love to see conditions fast, firm, and fair. Then we can all enjoy the great competitions, hopefully cash some big tickets. Then we'll see who the champions in each divisions will be, through what should be exciting races.

BellamyRd. 10-25-2006 08:36 PM

LOL, point taken Joel
now I came down from Wisconsin
so, eveybody here (in KY) is in heavy winter coats
and I'm in bermuda shorts and wondering why

What part? Actually, I was born in LaCrosse and my WHOLE family on both sides is from there and most still live there....I grew up in Louisiana since I was 4 - so it is what I know as home, but I'm officially a WI-bred...

it's in the 20's, and lots of snow already

Yeah man....I was born in LaCrosse and then my parents moved across the river to LaCrescent (sp?) in Minn. for a couple of years before coming to Louisiana. I never get a chance to get up there much...I went to the Saints/Packers game last year at Lambeau (about a year ago actually) but that was the first time in like 4 years....I have family ALL over the place up there....

I know Sammy White very well...he coached me in football many years growing up...I am the same age as his oldest son Trey White, who wound up going to Grambling (which is like 30 min. up the road from where I live) like his dad did.....the Whites are a great family

Funny world :)

Sammy is one genuine dude and his family is great...Trey and I used to have stay-overs all the time as kids...they are great people.....Trey was a helluva athlete too...he pitch at Grambling on the baseball team and played RB on the football team....

We were second in the Dixie Majors World Series twice in baseball with the following pitching staff:

Yours truly, Trey White and Ben Sheets, who plays for the Brewers now and was a first round pick from college and also led team USA to an Olympic gold medal.....ahhh, the good old days....:D

Thunder Gulch 10-25-2006 10:09 PM

The rail will get chewed up like it did early in the 2005 spring meet. Going to make winning inside very difficult.

well i like sheets and all but as a brew crew fan the injuries are starting to get old . he plays half a season and is supposed to be our ace. in my mind capuano is now are go to guy sine ben just cant stay healthy. but when healthy ,is as good as any in the game. kids got great stuff just injury prone. and with a payroll like we have we cant afford to have our best pitcher on the bench half the season. JOEL you think you still got the stuff we could use a arm up here, get your butt back in training i expect to see you in arizona in feb for tryouts lol:D

I couldn't drive a baseball over 80 MPH in my car these days....:D

I have found my niche as a pitcher on a softball team where we get hammered in the dug out all game....it is the only way I can hold on to the game nowadays....hell, I haven't pitched a ball OVERHAND in 7 years!!!

um, went to school there, don't live there.....

I would rather be a mid major fan any day of the week then a bigger school. No one will play us because A) we are that good and B) we don't lose at home and C) we are actually hunger because SIU players play for the love of the game, they have this thing you can't teach, heart....they know they aren't going to the NBA and they lay it all on the line...you guys get a stud freshman and poof, bye bye...sorry, but as a fan, that sucks and I am glad I am not a part of that, I get to watch my school's players for four years
