Today I'll be participating in attempting to qualify for the KDBC. So I'll just be making Win-Place bets on the contest races....

I have narrowed it down to three choices per race. Won't be betting until 5-8 MTP, it's a Win-Place contest

First two races on SYN, went to a good surface at GP and aired... J/T 1/3 win 2/3 ITM...trainer 14% winning MDN winner last race

You do know that mythical money contests and real time betting strategies are different? Sometimes you need to take a shot in a contest that doesn't warrant a large win or place bet (that goes for underlays too).

Betting $200 place on 9/5 favorite is best way to go either

I take it you mean isn't the best way to go. I agree, hell some of the contest races (like the 7th at Gulfstream) wasn't worth a real money bet. Two of the horses making drops almost didn't finish the race.

1 was my 3rd choice, I went with 4 taken out of race at start...

Gulfstream 8th:
1-8-4
My pick and two others off the board

Tampa Bay 8th:
8-10-3
My pick went off 9/5 led to top of stretch died...8 the winner was my second choice

Yes I realize this... I just am a firm believer in my contest pick, thus my real money wagers...
Last year at HPWS I was in top 30 after day 1 missed every race day 2...
