it be a call to arms! let us ride into the infinite deserts once again, insofar as the Carnival commences on Thursday. Our leader Mr. Brock appears to still be in occultation. However, we cannot let this great tradition wilt in the oppressive Arabian sun can we? An emphatic no! If the occulted Mr. Brock does not protest, the contest shall take the following form this year, one that is informed by a European flavour. For each Carnival race, we shall place win or each way bets, totalling 100 units of the currency of your preference. These 100 gold dirrhams can also be used on multiple horses. Let us take the Al Maktoum Challenge Round 1 this thursday as an example: http://www.emiratesracing.com/node/3?id=2707#tab-10148 Therefore, one could back the heroic Faulkner for 100 units at a straight win bet. One could also back Faulkner each way, 50 50 for 100. One could also dutch Faulkner and let us say Surfer 50 / 50, or 60 / 40 or 70 30 or whatever you wish. One could also place each way bets on both Faulkner and Surfer at 25 25 and 25 25 for a total of 100. One could also back 3 or more horses to win, 3 or more horses each way and so on, 1 horse to win and 1 horse each way, 1 horse to win and 2 horses each way, etc. in short gentlemen, the only requirement is that the total units wagered is 100 using win and or each way bets. The victor who shall drink victory nectar shall be determined by the infamous ROI formula. Boldly forward gentlemen, do not look back or you will be lost in the sands like Lawrence of Arabia, there is only one way out of this odiously bleak landscape, and that be to whisper into the ear of your lone companion: "accelerate in the desert on my mighty steed!" i am guilty of this in week 1, and realized that it is logically incoherent, (which is why I refrained from performing this myself personally,(also because i cannot hit a NAP if you give me the results beforehand), however we did have a case of it this week, and KLAUSBROKES shall allow the man in question to do this, because KLAUS HILL is at fault but no more please. We apologize for my lack of previous clarification: a NAP selection cannot be dutched, etc., has to be a win bet or e/w. I think this is consistent with the logic of what a NAP entails in a contest format and what a dutch entails, although perhaps some compelling arguments can be made against, nevetheless KLAUS POWER must be decisive so : a NAP selection cannot be dutched etc., has to be a win bet or e/w on a single steed warmest regards, K. |
