Incredible accomplishment Jim!

A few of us at Wynn were talking about the fact that we believe there were 4 tickets that hit this. Two of those tickets were played here at the Wynn. Then I look here and find out Jim is the 3rd of the 4 tickets!

Jim, that's absolutely awesome. So much for not being able to close the big one. Congrats on a great score. I'll be at the Haskell today if you wanna stop by and buy me a beer or a Cadillac.

Pretty impressive stuff............well played!!

robfla 08-03-2015 08:36 AM

Excellent job.

If I saw the play correctly, you have BIG CAHUNAS singling the first and second race @ 15:1 and 5:1 that was a $247 early double. The $100 double would have been about 12k+

again, great job!

Thanks.... I've been playing what I call a fat tail ticket now for a few months. I'll single first 2 legs and try to turn a decent opinion on the double into a pick 5. Always the first 2 legs cause if I'm done I'd like it to be over as quickly as possible and not have the agony of getting beat while on a single in the last race of the sequence. I don't view it a big kahunas as I am doing it consistently knowing that overall I'm going to hit this less than 5% of the time and the previous hit would carry me very far. I'm not a believer in the A-B-C method and I know I will get a lot of resistance. I believe that method will get you many more wins but the giant wins will elude you. The wins involving multiple C's. Just my humble opinion. My style is very high variance kind of like Dave Kingman style of betting. As I stated previously I was on a 46 bet losing streak playing that way but the one I hit back in May would carry me through a few hundred losses in a row.

My favorite wager is the Pick 5. Just like you, I don't follow the A-B-C methodology. I rate each race in the sequence 1 thru 5. 1 being the most likely race to run to form with 5 being the most wide open. I then try to stay slim on the 1's and 2's and then spread accordingly. Thanks for the Dave Kingman reference! My favorite player growing up on Long Island.
