They aren't the greatest; I had focus problems, but here are a few highlights.

Great pics, GR! Bernardini looks great, as does English Channel. :D

... and now that I've finally figured out how to shrink them down far enough to post, one from Belmont Stakes Day. :)

Great meeting you on Saturday but for those who haven't how 'bout a picture of yourself. Show these guys how cute you are.

Awww.... Dellinger, you're my new best friend. I was sorry I didn't get more time to chat on Saturday; I liked you immediately. We'll have to meet at the track again. (Hopefully with a better betting card!)

disappearingdan_akaplaya 10-11-2006 10:52 AM

nice pic's, thanks for sharing GR!

I've seen what she looks like too... and you're right, she is adorable!

Kev showed me, GR. :D

Psss. I'll be at Breeders Cup. Thanks for the compliment. We will see each other again as I had a blast both at the track and in the city.

Those are great pictures. Bernardini sure is one handsome looking animal.

Heelarious. Unfortunately, my husband has "issues" about me "dating other men." Something about "marriage vows" and "betrayal." Or something like that; I wasn't really listening because the Travers was about to start.

Sadly, I won't be at the BC (though it's in Jersey next year, right? I'm soooo there in '07) and I'm going to miss the Cigar Mile, too, because I'll be in Argentina. Argh! Who's stupid planning was that? Oh right... mine...

Cajun- :D

Isn't he, though? My husband teases me about always cutting the heads of the jockeys off in my pictures, but I tell him they are never as good-looking as the horse, so why bother? :)

You got it, Steve, though I must say, I love screen names-- it's like one's own secret identity. Which brings up a funny anecdote from Saturday morning-- as I left for the track, I checked in with my husband, who was in our office, doing pre-production on a little educational short film we shot Sunday, and asked him, "Do I look okay? No one will think Genuine Risk is a complete weirdo?"
"You look fine," he said. "'Genuine Risk?'"
"That's my screen name." I said.
"Oh. Hey, that'd be a good name for a racehorse."
"What would be?"
"Genuine Risk."
"Honey, she won the Kentucky Derby in 1980."
"Oh."(pause) "Way to make me feel stupid."

Hee hee hee.

funny story....BTW I never heard you say your name on Saturday... I had to ask Randall what it was afterwards.
Your pics came out pretty good...mine from Travers day were all blurry too...very frustrating because I would have had some great shots.

OK, now that is toooo funny. No offense to your hubby because mine would have probably said the same thing. OH he likes to act like he knows everything about horse racing, but I seriously think he would have thought the same thing.

And guys, you should be sorry she is married. She is a hottie. I have seen pics. No where near the fatso I am. :) Just teasing ya Genuine.

P.S. Did ya get the pics I sent ya?

Oh my goodness; I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself! Actually, I can-- I was too overwhelmed with meeting someone who saw Henny Hughes' first moments in the world... :) And all my social niceties went right out the window in my nervousness. Typical. So nice meeting you; I'm sorry we didn't have more chance to chat. Next time.

Bummer about the Travers pix. Do you use a digital camera? Much as I like the convenience and portability, I hate the delay between pressing the button and the shutter actually taking the picture-- it's like you have to anticipate the picture a second ahead of time. I may have to shell out money for a really good camera if I want to keep taking pix at the races...

I just saw your email in my mailbox; I'm going to go wade through all the unread mail in there now and look at them. Thanks! (and thanks for the compliment-- I took a sick day today and just got up from a nap so I'm looking less like a hottie and more like a walking zombie...)

Thanks, Cunningham! With a better camera, sometime down the road, maybe they'll all be in focus, too! :)

I have a digital but i never use it...I can't afford one of the really nice ones and like you hate the delay...I have an older Nikon that I've had for about 15 years and I love it...but on travers day I set the lens to continuous focus and forgot to adjust my picture taking accordingly...my own fault, but I was p*ssed at myself afterwards.
