it never ends ........

I don't doubt it. The sport caters to the lowest common denominator.

I think Rocktard could be right about this one.

In all seriousness he was the 3rd best looking baby I saw all meet. And he is clearly the best bred for 10f.

Tomatoface is the trainer? It's a long way to Derby. Especially with Tomatoface keeping them in training.

Good luck

Top 3 I saw are all trained by him. 2 of them ran today and the 3rd is Blofeld. I agree though its hard to get excited when they are Todd horses. They seem to never stick around.

I'm sorry but what never ends?

This is DERBY trail forum and he posted a thread about an exciting two year old. What on earth are you criticizing him for?

I don't understand.

Thank you, but you dont have to.
Just like in the DQ thread last night with someone else.

Pants II 09-01-2014 08:33 PM

I'm more concerned about Tomatoface.

Has anyone close to him recommended SPF 50? There are some great sunscreen brands with products primarily for the face.

Ever seen an old tomato? Not a good look.

To b honest I was WAY surprised that horse won GC going 5.5 from the 1 post and doing it pretty well. Will put in the stable and c what happens. LIS I figured a giant causeway horse going 5.5 wouldn't win esp from one

That was the most impressive part for me too. I usually will avoid betting Giant's Causeway at 5.5 F.

I believe before the race Andy mentioned how fast the 10 is early. I think he said the 10 could be long gone. The 10 is not very good but he is very fast and Carpe Diem out sprinted him pretty easily from the rail.

O'Neill's got a nice 2 year old horse out there Wake up Nick.

Yes he does....;)

RockHardTen1985 09-02-2014 05:05 PM

84 beyer for this guy in debut. Solid enough.

cakes44 09-02-2014 08:11 PM

TJ Houshmazilly...championship!

Speaking of the Kentucky Derby, super proud that it was trending on Twitter worldwide yesterday...after everybody found out Wes Welker did "molly" there (well it's assumed, he was throwing around money and had a drug positive afterward).

All publicity is good publicity? Hmm.

robfla 10-06-2014 11:11 AM

nice win in the Breeders' Futurity - 91BSF

KirisClown 10-06-2014 01:54 PM

Between now and whenever, someone will inevitably mention this horse for the Derby.. so I'll do i now.

Gold Shield..

Would be nice if he broke his maiden first right Kiri? Honor Code working again

It took Orb until late November to break his maiden..

If he races again, Honor Code will never come anywhere close to living up to the attention he gets.. I'd be more interested in following Top Billing..

Honor Code is better and Top billing still not on the work tab.

At least this sets up a potential war in the Juvenile. Ill take Carpe Diem all day over Daredevil. Daredevil needs to win on a dry track first, plus I feel like he is being rushed a little. Upstart might be better then Daredevil IMO. Anyway, I still think Carpe Diem has to take another step forward to beat American Pharoah. This is a very good 2yr old class so far, the horses I mentioned here are running very fast races. Exciting times.

I also really like Blofeld. I said during Saratoga that Carpe Diem, Blofeld and Competitive Edge were the three best babies that I saw. Blofeld just ran a 100 beyer yesterday with a bad trip. This is a very fast class early on.

I don’t get this at all. What attention does he get? Did he not deserve attention last year? He won first time out like a really good thing. He made up 22 lengths and ran an 89 beyer. With his trainer and pedigree some expectations were sure to follow. He came back and ran a bang up 2nd to the BC Juvy chalk Havana. He was 8 wide in that race and ran a 93 beyer, improving off his debut and proving he was not just a slop freak. He skips the BC he would have been the chalk or the 2nd chalk behind Havana had they gone. He wins the Remsen. In that race he beats Cairo Prince and Wicked Strong. Before the Remsen Cairo Prince had won the G2 Nashua. After the Remsen, Cairo Prince dominated the Holy Bull. He was a top notch Derby prospect until something went wrong in the Florida Derby. Wicked Strong who ran 3rd in the Remsen has won the Wood Memorial and Jim Dandy since, and you can argue he was best in the Travers. I think any praise or attention that Honor Code got was well deserved. The handicap division is a mess right now, I hope he comes back better then ever. As for Top Billing I believe Honor Code is the better horse and as of now Honor Code has accomplished a lot more on the track. I think Top Billing is the real hype machine because of how he won a couple races. People love that big late running style. Top Billing has a slow maiden win at Laurel and an allowance win at Gulfstream on his resume. He beat nothing in that allowance race, Surfing USA has totally fallen apart since. Top Billing was a non threatening 3rd as the chalk in his only stakes attempt.

How much do you have on him and at what price in the future books?

DonGuido 10-12-2014 06:11 PM

Fun to speculate so early . . . but 9 out of 10 times it's meaningless . . . except for Street Sense or maybe Shared Belief (who did not win) in recent history . . . the hot 2YO's this time of year rarely pan out . . . so much can happen. It will be a 3YO that starts kicking it in around March that will start getting me excited. I'll get back to you around then.

Let's see who wins the Juvy first.
