With garbage pursues you get garbage racing and that is exactly what CD had this spring and will have this fall garbage horses garbage trainers and garbage racing.

We have been discussing the Churchill Downs jockey colony that came into the upstate region this year : Hernandez, Lanerie, Albarado, and Bridgemohan. All have been dead weight all meet long although to be fair, Brian and Shaun has not had anywhere near the mounts (quality wise) that Corey and Robby have sunk.

Only for completeness, Rosie Napravnik has been terrific this meeting and I cannot recall one situation where folks were wondering "what was she thinking" on the track. She has quietly compiled a solid record against some tough first calls this season.

Looked to me like Castellano allowed Roaring Conquest to drift out which happened to be underneath Beyond Empire with ...guess who ... Irad Ortiz. Second time we have seen Javier play loose with Irad's mount in the last several days.

My sense is that if Roaring Conquest beat either Beyond Empire or Gridley Here, he would have been taken down ... then again, in the rock'em, sock'em stretch drives that have become the NYRA Rodeo circuit, I am not sure that anyone would have changed the order of finish.

Castellano for as good as he is does some mind boggling things at times. There was only one outcome with that pace.

Came onto the site to comment about the same : 21.07, 43.56 pace. Anyone cashing a ticket on Street Shark, a well-meant winner tabbed by Steve Byk, owes a debt of gratitude to both Joel Rosario as a sacrificial lamb on Stormy Rocit and to Javier Castellano for falling into a silly trap.

In Console's last race at Saratoga, he ran 21 3/5 and 43 3/5. The difference is that the turf course was harder earlier in the meeting and the difference between 21 and 21 3/5 is huge. Notice the final time compared to Console's last winning effort.

wish i would have checked it out; came in late and ill prepared today and thats what i get for it. My own fault of not digging the possible pace scenerio as SB did.:o
