Vegas Sports Book
Heading back to Vegas this weekend...any recommendations where to play? Thanks.

LV Hilton

Known as the lvh or las vegas hotel now.
Always liked their sportsbook. Off the strip though |

Venetian is very good. MGM has great energy, and the deli next to the book is amazing. |
I like the Bellagio, because you can play poker while looking at the sportsbook. But I found the Mandalay Bay to have alot of space. Last time I was at Caesars Palace I hated the sportsbook because they allowed smoking and a few minutes in that crap will give you lung cancer

Wynn is awesome. So comfortable and the cafe adjacent to it is really good. Venetian looks nice since Cantor took it over, but nothing matches Wynn from top to bottom.

The Wynn is probably the best technically, but I am more comfortable at the Venetian. I have just been treated nicely there the last two years I went for the Breeders Cup. Also the Asian place right on the corner of the sportsbook is a much better option than the deli appended to the Wynn sportsbook. As an aside, the Venetian poker room has a lot more action than the Wynn.
If you want to play horsey futures, however, you have to visit the Wynn (also any William Hill outlet). http://www.williamhill.us/racing/fin...ll-race-book-2 |
I remember Caesars Palace being pretty nice also. Many screens and roomy. High ceilings, so smoke should not be an issue.

Avoid the Venetian. LV Hilton and MGM Grand are pretty good
|
Venetian is just too busy for me. I stayed at Mandalay Bay late last year and really liked it.
Wynn is obviously spectacular, but so are the prices. |

Legasse Stadium at Venetian is God's gift to a sports fan.

I hear Bellaggio has a nice sports book too. A guy I know plays the ponies from there on his trips to Vegas and he loves it.

May not be as glamourous as others mentioned here (Wynn is awesome) but I was very comfortable and enjoyed the the Super Saver Derby at the Southpoint. Plenty of room, excellent viewing for horses. I was treated nicely. I would go back for sure............

I agree that the racebook at the Southpointe is one of the better ones. There are nicer racebooks (Wynn, Bellagio) but you have to bring a flashlight with you to read the forms. Southpointe is one of the few hotels that actually cares about horseplayers. It has special reduced room rates for horseplayers and the video from the racebook is shown on the different channels on the tv in your room .So you can flip on the races in the am without racing down to the racebook. I have asked at other hotels why they don't do the same thing and get indifferent shrugs. I mean how hard is it to flip a switch. Nice to be able to go back up to relax and be able to watch the rest of your P4 races race live in the comfort of your own room.
Venitian sportsbook was remodeled a few years ago and is huge and very bright with huge screens surrounding the place. Good place to watch sports at the same time you are playing the races. |
Thanks for the good advice.

nice to know that we have confirmed that cig. smoke kills people, yet we still allow it to kill other people who want nothing to do with it, legally.... and for cigarette smokers, very slowly. |
