Royal Ascot

How Day 1 (Tuesday) is looking...

http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/m...014/fast-cards

Would be nice to see Verrazano do well in the Queen Anne.

Have not looked much but the one I can't wait to play is Sole Power in the King's Stand (... cause you know Shea Shea will be so heavily backed). :)

my miss storm cat 06-13-2014 01:44 PM

Looking at some of the noms for next week... cannot wait for the Coronation Stakes (what a nice group of fillies!)...

http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/ca...=#raceTabs=lc_

... and, of course, Treve, The Fugue, Magician, Dank et al in the Prince of Wales's Stakes...

Should be an unbelievable week! As always. Can't wait.

my miss storm cat 06-15-2014 07:32 PM

For Treve fans (... and face it... who isn't one?)...

Maybe you'll find this helpful...

edit- oh duh never mind I see Steve posted this earlier.

Wanted to mention earlier but forgot... for the Goldikova fans (haha all of us) her little brother, Anodin, is in the Queen Anne tomorrow. :)

my miss storm cat 06-16-2014 08:10 PM

Queen Anne Stakes... Tullius, Verrazano, Anodin

Coventry Stakes... Longshot for the day is Bossy Guest  :$:

King's Stand Stakes... Lock for the day - Sole Power/ using Ahtoug and Guerre underneath

St James's Palace Stakes... Sitting this out cause the 2 favorites will be at no odds (and they are both so good). :)

Ascot Stakes...I like Gabrial's King and Suraj... will see how the odds move and probably use Perfect Heart as well.

Windsor Castle Stakes... Was going to sit this out but looking at Haxby and Among Angels...

Good luck everyone and come home safe, kids.

Sightseek 06-17-2014 09:29 AM

Nice effort by Verrazano. Refreshing to see a horse pointed in this direction rather than stud duty.

Just lovely! Had to wait for the replay but wow!

Sitting out tomorrow as nothing jumps out at me but cannot wait for Days 4 and 5. Who are you liking the next few days?

I just watch. :o Honestly, I haven't followed overseas racing in years, I don't know how you keep up with it all! I do think Starboard and Chil The Kite are very pretty in this next race. :D

2nd at 31-1. I'm as good as that #eyeselected dude on twitter. :D

_ed_ 06-18-2014 04:10 PM

So Starspangledbanner's fertility was so low that he came back to racing in 2012, but he still has two G2 winners at Royal Ascot from his 2011 crop!

Well hooray for your pick! No idea who the #eyeselected guy is but then I don't follow most of the normal horsie people others seem to. :o

Crazy stuff! :)

edit - Took a last look but yeah.. will sit it out (but rooting for Mind of Madness and the Queen's horse, Estimate).

_ed_ 06-19-2014 07:49 PM

Wow, amazing race by Estimate! Running for the first time this year, and she almost won the Gold Cup. Incredible.

Sightseek 06-20-2014 10:28 AM

Rosalind -- what a bummer!

edit - Loretta Martin in the Chesham Stakes is at 40/1? I'll take it! Playing her across but no idea what else yet...

Royal Ascot trip

Hello, new to DT, but a big Steve Byk "At the Races" fan. Has anyone been over to the royal ascot meet? We were looking to gather some information and was wondering if there is any sites other than Ascot that we should check out. Any information would be appreciated.

Rocks..

Welcome!

There is a travel group that goes around the world to racecourses but I can't seem to find their info. But send me a note here or by Email (sbyk@nycap.rr.com) and I will put you in touch with the people at the Intl Racing Bureau who should have the best further contact for RA travel packages. Meanwhile, the RA site which you've likely visited: http://www.ascot.co.uk/directions

Appreciate you listening and joining DT..

Steve
