Formulator Printing Issues

Since last night I have been unable to print Ky Oaks PP's from Formulator. It keeps timing out. I tried 3 different browsers on my pc and 2 other computers, all with the same issue. I called this morning and was told it was an issue with my computer, which I knew it was not with the above test. I called back a few minutes ago and they said that they were aware of the issue and were working on it, but it could be another 4-5 hours. They also said that anyone who was unable to print their PP's could request a refund.

I thought it was just me, but I did the same thing, several different computers, different tries and kept timing out. Good to know it wasn't just me.:)

Access the classic pps if anyone needs to print.
There was a small window earlier this morning where I was able to create a pdf for the Derby. Not working now but if you need to create the pdf with desired filters there is a better chance to do it race by race rather than the whole card at once.

I've been trying race by race since last night with no success. I downloaded the classic pp's, so I may have to resort to those as a backup. I've spent 14 years programming back end web utilities for different companies. It is likely a server load issue since creating and then viewing a file is more taxing. However, DRF could have easily avoided this issue with some planning.

ne to socal 05-01-2014 05:23 PM

Hasn't worked all day for me. I gave up and bought elsewhere.

pick4 05-01-2014 05:56 PM

DRF are being overloaded with download requests. Just be patient and we'll be able to download later tonight.

pick4 05-01-2014 06:06 PM

DRF have been pushing their customers to their web site to use their product.
Their failure to deliver the pp's at this time is very telling about their entire operation.

ne to socal 05-01-2014 06:08 PM

Just got an email from DRF acknowledging the issue and offering one free card as an "oops"

hondo 05-01-2014 06:42 PM

Tried to print for 3 hours last night and I spoke to them at 8 Am this morning and got a BS answer...just spoke with them at 7:30 PM after trying for another 2 hours and got some more BS....they put in a request for a refund for both the Qaks an Derby cards and will contact me in 2 days.....glad I did not sign up again ....it is off to Brisnet where I had been before I tried this debacle called DRF:zz:

Uncle Daddy 05-01-2014 08:40 PM

Same problems with printing. Sent DRF Help email at 10AM. No response yet...

Forgot how advanced Formulator is. Hope the programmers can deliver tonight

luvalab 05-01-2014 09:11 PM

So far, I've been able to get 4 of the stakes races on the Oaks card to print.

joeydb 05-01-2014 09:59 PM

Formulator print function is down

Talked to DRF and this issue will hopefully be resolved soon.

Meanwhile, over at BRIS, everything is working fine - as usual.

Alabama Stakes 05-02-2014 08:34 AM

it would almost be amusing, IF IT WEREN'T SO PATHETIC

wow still down. this is unacceptable. they're ruining everything. WHY CAN'T WE USE THE PRINT FUNCTION ON OUR COMPUTER ?

dear DRF....you suck !
that is all

Frost King 05-02-2014 09:16 AM

Then they have the nerve to sit there and scratch their balls and wonder why they are slowly bleeding to death. The second biggest weekend of the year, and you can't access their premier product. What a bunch of clowns. This does not surprise me, as they had these issues all winter on the weekends.

joeydb 05-02-2014 09:20 AM

I can't do my Derby analysis as I normally would, nor today's Gulfstream card. I am really bummed.

I did manage to get the Oaks PP's printed before it went down.

joeydb 05-02-2014 09:37 AM

If somebody DOES see that it's fixed, please post here so we know.

luvalab 05-02-2014 11:02 AM

Latest message when you try to print from Formulator. Let me interpret this. What they are really saying is,"We have no idea when this will be fixed, but it is not likely we'll have it fixed before the Ky Derby. So, you're only option is the classic PP's".

"We apologize, but the print function of Formulator is currently unavailable. We are working to fix ASAP.

You can print using Classic PPs, FREE for Formulator customers, by copying this link into your browser:

Unfortunately, Brisnet blocks me from even creating an account with them based on where I live. I wish they would separate the two like DRF does so I can at least get the BRIS pp's.

ajphilly 05-02-2014 06:20 PM

When I emailed them yesterday about this they sent me a PDF of the Classic PPs to print. Guess they can't even generate a PDF of the Formulators on their own? Glad I paid for a Formulator subscription to get access to the Classic PPs

They'll give you a refund for yesterday, today and likely tomorrow. You should definitely request one, as well as anyone else that was affected. With some planning, this could have been prevented.

joeydb 05-02-2014 10:12 PM

Hi everybody - looks like it is now working. Just got my derby card... :D

Brisnet is way better than DRF.
DRF is overrated

pick4 05-07-2014 07:38 PM

DRF sent me this email the other day......................

Dear Formulator Customer,

We wanted to thank you for your patience as we worked through the
Formulator printing issue that some of you experienced this past week.

Our technical team has implemented a permanent solution that will ensure printing functionality is up and running this busy Triple Crown Season
and beyond.

Your loyalty and enthusiasm for Formulator is sincerely appreciated by
everyone here at DRF.

In addition to the FREE race card we offered last week, which is valid
for any track/date over the next 2 weeks, we’d like to give you an
additional FREE Formulator race card.

Yeah I got that too. Glad to hear that the changes they made will perform better going forward.

I am not going to beat them up. I do like their product. That was stressful though having to wait until late Friday night to get something that should have been available Wednesday night after the post draw.

When did you receive this email?

As of today I have not received any response back from DRF, including the email you posted. I called DRF today and was told that they are contacting everyone who tried to download a card on either of those days. She took my name and number and said someone would call me back. I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks!

I initially received an email from DRF on Thursday May 1st telling me they apologize for the Formulator printing problems. They gave the link to download and print the Classic card. They also offered a Free Formulator card.

Fast Forward to Monday afternoon and I received the email above. This time they provide codes to purchase 2 Formulator cards. I had purchased Saturday's Derby and Belmont Park cards on Wednesday April 30th.

This server issue was the last think DRF wanted. I thought they were very fair with the 2 free card offer. Plus they gave me a work around while they worked to resolve the printing problem. DRF have always been very responsive when I have had issues with their product.

luvalab 05-14-2014 11:49 PM

Round 2 of printing issues. I just tried to print the Preakness Card - several times I have received the same error as before the Derby.

Error:
HTTP Status 500 -
type Status report
message
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3.1.2.2

From their apology letter:
"Our technical team has implemented a permanent solution that will ensure
printing functionality is up and running this busy Triple Crown Season and beyond."

Hopefully, they get this fixed before I leave for Balitmore.
