|
Fantastic!
|
Congrats to all but if you are going to watch they should add Millie Ball, easy on the eyes.
|
Thanks.
I'm really looking forward to this opportunity. It's going to be a lot of fun. |
Andy do you get to go to Dubai? Or will you be working out of a studio?
|
Living in a blackout state, I'm very eager to see racing coverage without the fluff that networks throw into Derby and BC broadcasts. I've emailed everyone that I know who is already into racing as well as those in whom I've been trying to cultivate an interest to let them know to watch!

dont be to hard on simon..

Simon Bray will be fodder for the man in the midst of a storm he'd much rather forget.
|
I really hope that Simon Bray and Greg Wolf do not act like they do on TVG.
I have no doubt that Andy, the Mig, and Alyssa will be great and show horse racing in a good light, but some of the stuff Bray and Wolf is out there. Wolf was a cinch for the job considering his already contract with Fox Sports, but I am surprised that Bray is on there. Would have much rather seen Hoover. Bray probably has the TV look I guess. Such a great opportunity for the game considering how much sports networks are growing. |
Very nice inaugural broadcast! Horse racing really looks great on HDTV.
Personally, I was flattered when my Tweet got read on air by the Mig. "39-1 Lochte upsets! Great rail skimming ride" just after running of Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap. Plus, it got retweet, too. @wire2wirewin |
Great start to the Tour.. Looked great. Not too simple, not too advanced. Lots to look forward to...

was just coming on to say the same. well done, everyone. |
It was good...the lady struggled a few times, but it was hard to tell if it was her fault or just working out kinks in communication.
|
I turned it on when in the gate for the turf race ( wife loves getting computer viruses at most opportune time ), and really enjoyed it. Wolf seemed to tone it down and Mig was great as usual (better then Bailey IMO). I question Bray involved with the handicapping side cause that is probably his weakest point but having Andy there will even it out.
As everyone else says, in HD, horse racing is just unreal and a real missed opportunity cause of the supposed cost involved. |
Is there any reason it wouldn't have been on in some places? I found it on my tv, it said there was 90 minutes of coverage, put it on the correct channel, couldn't stay to watch the coverage as it aired so I hit record and just now tried to watch it. Instead of horse racing it had snowboarding coverage of some sort. The Fox sports logo is at the top of the screen. It was the right channel. What the heck? It's not like it didn't tell me what was on, I saw it say Donn Handicap in the description. If they're not gonna show it, tell me what you ARE gonna show so I don't waste time and energy recording it.
|
Really liked Mig in his role on the show, he has really grown with his TV experience. Seems that Simon and Andy should reverse rolls though, as they have Andy in the Hank Goldberg roll and he has much more to offer.;)
|
Great coverage! Curious as to why no interview with D. Wayne and his thoughts on WTC.
|
Does anyone know what the TV share for the broadcast?

Yu!!!!!!
Simon wanted to pull her TATS along with him!

TJC Tour on Fox adds Big Cap
FOX Sports 1 and The Jockey Club announced today that the network will provide live coverage of the $750,000 Santa Anita Handicap from Santa Anita Park on Saturday, March 8. The telecast, as part of The Jockey Club Tour on FOX, will air from 7 - 7:30 p.m. ET.
The 77th edition of the Big ’Cap is expected to feature leading handicap horses Game On Dude, Mucho Macho Man and Will Take Charge. Game On Dude won the historic race in 2011 and 2013 and Mucho Macho Man beat Will Take Charge by a nose in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita last November 2. Will Take Charge, the Eclipse Award winner as outstanding 3-year-old of 2013, was second to Lea in the Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park in his 2014 debut, which was shown live on FOX Sports 1 on February 9. Mucho Macho Man won the Florida Sunshine Millions Classic at Gulfstream Park on January 18 by 14 lengths. The prestigious mile-and-a-quarter Santa Anita Handicap has been won by Hall of Famers such as Seabiscuit, Round Table, Ack Ack, Affirmed, Spectacular Bid, John Henry, Alysheba and Best Pal. “We’re thrilled to add a gem like the Big ’Cap to the FOX Sports 1 schedule on March 8,” said Michael Mulvihill, FOX Sports’ senior vice president, Programming and Research. “This rematch of the top two finishers from last year’s spine-tingling Breeders’ Cup Classic will be one of the most anticipated races of the year, and we’re happy to give it the national platform it deserves.” “We are delighted to be a part of The Jockey Club Tour on FOX and to be able to showcase this magnificent race in Eastern Prime Time on Fox Sports 1,” said Santa Anita Chairman Keith Brackpool. “We want to thank the connections of Mucho Macho Man and Will Take Charge for committing to this historic rematch, and we’re hoping to have Game On Dude and a strong overall contingent of local horses as well. That said, this year’s Santa Anita Handicap should provide our fans with great racing and compelling television and we’re honored to be a part of it.” “This edition of the Big ’Cap promises to be one of the most exciting and most important races of the year, and we are elated that our television partner could find a spot for it in the programming schedule and that The Stronach Group was willing to shift the post time slightly to accommodate us,” said Jason Wilson, vice president of business development for The Jockey Club. |
