Bayern today at Santa Anita

the next potential superhorse runs today in the 5th for Baffert with Stevens up. Have heard alot of hype about this horse in the way he looks and works

RockHardTen1985 01-04-2014 04:37 PM

Loading now. Hope he crushes.

RockHardTen1985 01-04-2014 04:39 PM

Professional.

pucknut 01-04-2014 04:47 PM

Looked like a budding superstar
And with the pre race clicker comments revealed 4/5 was a belated Christmas gift

tanner12oz 01-04-2014 05:20 PM

Any idea where this one will appear next out?

also is there somewhere online that was the 2 year old under tack workouts? They show them on tvg all the time which makes me they think are somewhere...they showed bayern today and was literally coasting over the track under no asking...these videos I think would be just as valuable as the clocker comments

Quick search tip for finding sale information if you don't have it available in pps: type year of birth sire - dam into google e.g. '11 Offlee Wild - Alittlebitearly

It was said about Flashback last year and a slew of others before in Bafferts barn. What makes this horse any more special?

tanner12oz 01-05-2014 05:04 PM

I think flashback would have been a badass had he stayed healthy...not exactly winning the triple crown material but I think he could have been a strong contender on the ca circuit

RockHardTen1985 01-05-2014 08:21 PM

beyer? Low 90's?

Kasept 01-05-2014 08:24 PM

Seattleallstar 02-13-2014 10:28 PM

Looks like Stevens will have to choose between Bayern and Candy Boy, wonder what the fig was

tanner12oz 02-14-2014 05:35 AM

You gotta think tap it rich is just about off the trail at this point...thinking gelding might be in his future if they are willing to toss his stud career

Kasept 02-14-2014 05:56 AM

98 Beyer for Bayern..

Tap It Rich was bothered by Brother Soldier, who was rank early, into the turn. That's what drove him wide. When he straightened onto the backside, he really wanted to go but Smith had him under a tight hold. Ran evenly after that. They say he's just stupid as opposed to studish.

Seattleallstar 02-14-2014 08:00 AM

Don't know what to think the margin of win was impressive but Stevens was getting at him pretty good and early on as well. It wasn't if he won under a hold after only a reminder or 2. Was Bayern getting lazy or did Stevens really have to work to get the run?

Seattleallstar 06-08-2014 07:49 AM

The real Bayern showed and looks to be a monster sprinter and miler

Seattleallstar 07-27-2014 04:51 PM

Very impressive! Maybe he can run longer

Impressive? 8 other dolts let him get 3/4 in 1:11 on a lone lead?

Yeah, I wold love to see them run him longer so I can bet against him.

cakes44 07-27-2014 04:53 PM

Yeah...whoa.

lol you have a point, Kaleem Shah and Baffert have received gifts this weekend with loose lead horses

Pants II 07-27-2014 05:01 PM

It was a spectacular performance. The break wasn't that good so take that into account.

When asked...the horse shot like a cannon.

ateamstupid 07-27-2014 05:16 PM

With those fractions and trip on that biased track, there was absolutely no way the horse was going to lose. I hope he goes in the Travers so I can bet against him with both fists.

Pants II 07-27-2014 05:19 PM

I understand that the pace was slow but the two horses that were going to be pressuring him attempted to do so early in the race.

Bayern is a good horse. Slow fractions or no. It's not like this crop is spectacular.

I disagree, I thought the rides on Wildcat Red and Social Inclusion were ridiculously passive. He's a good horse, but today's performance will make everyone overrate him immensely.

tanner12oz 07-27-2014 05:25 PM

This horse has matured very well over the last few months..he has late on the trail was green through the preps and derby trial...preakness didn't show anything and then blinkers come on and this horse puts it together. You gotta admit like it or not this is a much more fit and professional bayern than we saw this spring...his last 2 performances are some of the most dominating performances we have seen from a 3 year old male

I don't think Baffert will run him in the Travers. Pennsylvania Derby against Chrome.

tanner12oz 07-27-2014 05:31 PM

Horse has won on the east and on the west...different distances..has shown more the most of the paper champions of this division

I dont think they point to the Travers. Its either Kings Bishop or PA Derby. I would run in the Kings Bishop. He would be 4-5 for another G1.

Makes sense. Parx is another track that rewards the front end.

Baffert said no to shortening up for the King's Bishop after the Haskell.

Aly-Sheba 07-27-2014 07:06 PM

I thought it was very impressive and visually it was better the Wicked Strong race. Maybe he can't go a mile and a quarter, but you don't know until you try.

10 pnt move up 07-27-2014 10:54 PM

Strongest group of socal three year olds since.....thinking Tiznow and General Challenge, think that was the same year.

Congaree and Point Given was the same year as well. But there are three really good ones this year.

Different years for tiznow and general challenge.

Socal three year olds were mostly irrelevant during the heyday of synthetic

Baffert said yesterday he doesn't want to turn him back now. On ATR later. Likely 11:30a.

He travels very little since the health crisis in Dubai.

7 of the last 21 Haskell's for Baffert. Pretty FN remarkable. Shah seems like an incredibly humble and likely gentleman. It's easy to root for that man.

Social Inclusion was very fractious prerace, and broke thru the gate, stumbled and bumped at the break, Wildcat Heir stumbled at the start.
