Sighty needs our help
For those that weren't aware, Nicole Buttis -- 'Sightseek' -- had a riding accident early this year that is causing extended health issues. Many may have seen this fund-raiser emerge at Facebook and I'm sure anything we can do to help will be greatly appreciated by Sighty whom so many of us have gotten to know personally over the last 10 years...
Wishing her a speedy and complete recovery. http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fun...rt-fund/110369 |
Oh wow.. Hate to hear all this. I will definitely help just as soon as I can.
Get well soon Nicole! |
Take care of yourself, Sighty, and don't worry... we all know the extreme generosity of everyone here. That goal WILL be reached. :)
Take care, sistah! |
I can't thank my "Nerdy" family enough! Horse racing has been a wonderful discovery for me - not only for the thrills the sport provides, but for the people you meet along the way. Thank you all for being a part of that. :)

Best wishes for a full recovery

I have also asked them to consider retweeting the link...every horseplayer can benefit by creating "good karma" |
Thanks for letting us know, Steve. This is one of the best aspects of the internets.
Hoping for a full recovery soon, Sighty! |
Sighty is a great person, great horse racing fan, and has been one of the posters who has made this board such a fun and special place. Countless times, she has put a smile on my face, and said something to put me in a good mood.
Hope you get better, soon. Sweetheart |
Thanks Steve for posting.....
Get well soon Sighty!!! Wish you a speedy recovery!! |
Glad to help. I hope this thread lifts your spirits and you are doing better soon.

You guys are all so amazing! I wish I could find the words to express how much your support means to me. Thank you for all of the kind messages on my page. :{>: :{>: :{>:

I'm on board and would challenge all of us to reach down to someone who's brought great joy to this site. If you've been around here for any time, you know that.
I'd expect a ground swell of support for one of ours. Happy New Year Nicole! Spyder from SC |
Thinking of you and wishing a 2014 that brings a full recovery.
|
We're all behind you and this year is gonna be better for you if only by a collective sheer force of will on our part. I'm definitely gonna give people an ear/eye full online. The internet is at its best helping in situations like this. I realize most people assume it's at its best when drawing our attention to cute kittens, but this is actually a greater use for it.

I wanted to update everyone on my medical journey as well. I spent the last week out-patient at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center doing tests to find where I am leaking csf fluid. They were unable to find the exact location of my leak, but found "suspicious areas" along my thoracic spine. They administered an epidural blood patch on Friday. The idea being that the blood fills the epidural space and hopefully clots over the leak or stimulates the tissue to heal, but really, while the doctors at Cedars are the most published on this condition, they are the first to admit that they don't know exactly how it works. Some people heal with one "patch", others with several and my doctor said about 10% require surgery. We'll see how I feel over the next few days. I wanted to let you all know since so many of you have reached out to help me out, not only financially, but emotionally. It has been difficult, but you all have kept me strong. Also, a note of caution for anyone else who may be going through there own 'rare' medical issues, or have a family member who is, if you're dealing with a medical center who is unsure of your condition, find one who is. I went through a lot of pain and wasted time up to this point with the wrong doctors. |
We will all keep praying and pulling really hard for you Nicole. Sorry you have been through all you have and am hoping that you will be seeing an end to all the pain and all the hardships you've had to endure. You seem like a really a strong person and I know your going to be back to your normal healthy self in no time.

Glad you've found some good docs!
