Using War Dancer, I have been on him for a while. Race is wide wide open though. I still have minor doubts about Sweet Reason, can't she just be a total slop freak?? Or a closing sprinter?? I'll press Havana and Honor Code. Have to cover Wayne though.

letswastemoney 10-02-2013 09:22 PM

In all my time using BRIS, I've never seen a horse with a 138 LP figure.

The race also sets up for Honor Code. On paper, he is the most likely winner.

Per Marcus Hersch, FIVE IRON will run in the Hawthorne Derby rather than the Jamaica..

Someone should hook his connections up with a DRF account so they could have seen how much they belonged in the Jamaica.

Well, I guess if Souper Speedy could be rated in the Kelso, then anything is possible.

jms62 10-04-2013 08:30 AM

I have a hard time with both the Frizette and Champange as I question whether or not the form is because of the wet surfaces

booner 10-04-2013 10:00 AM

Looking forward to seeing what Debt Ceiling can do in the Champange.

Sightseek 10-04-2013 11:11 AM

I really hope Sweet Reason takes to a fast track.

She will not be nearly as good and IMO its unlikely she wins

I was chastised for saying that here...it is simply a show me question...excited to see myself.

freddymo 10-04-2013 01:32 PM

I think she is a dress out slop filly

randallscott35 10-04-2013 01:40 PM

Not to mention she broke poorly in both efforts and comes out of the 1 hole here in her first route (yes its 1 turn)

I concur. Pressing the 4, using the 2.

letswastemoney 10-05-2013 12:10 AM

There might be more to Divided Attention. Her sibling Folklore won the 2005 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Other than her, Artemis Agrotera should improve for a trainer that does well with horses stretching out.

Mike shut try meantioned the same crazy number in his pick on horse racing nation
That 138 is so sick

pucknut 10-05-2013 07:49 AM

That's mike shutty damn spell check

letswastemoney 10-05-2013 04:53 PM

Strong Mandate finally got exposed for beating those weak fields where almost none of the horses ever returned to win.

Honor Code ran well to get 2nd, just went too wide.

Not sure how good Havana is as we go around two turns but he was surely best in that race. Did all the dirty work and still won.

He didn't run well, but what was the point of dragging him back after breaking like a shot? Ridiculous ride...

Horrible ride, agree. Speed is his main weapon the 2 won the previous race pressing. He should have been up on the pace.

Sightseek 10-05-2013 05:47 PM

Sweet Reason can run on a fast track.

Hope they take a shot at the BC.

randallscott35 10-05-2013 06:04 PM

3rd poor start in a row, however...and it cost her.

Gyarmati told Grening that if she exits race OK, they'll go.

pucknut 10-07-2013 08:30 AM

that was a monster race
she wins by open lenghths with a breaks cleanly
school her repeatedly from the gate win the BC

This is not even close to accurate. In her debut, she broke, at most, a half length slow. In the Spinaway, she broke fine. In the Frizette, she ducked in badly, which happens in mile races out of the chute on occasion. This is hardly horse specific. She has shown no gate issues in the past, and doesn't figure to in the Breeder's Cup.

The break absolutely cost her in the Frizette. However, what really hurt her was the slow pace.

Off poorly in 3 races, sure off poorly against state bred maidens tends to mean less. Maybe you should have read the whole thread where I specified (Before the race) that with her tendency to start poorly and having the rail in a 1 mile chute was not a good combo. Instead you just comment for the sake of it as usual.

Once again, she not only never had a "poor start" previously, she barely broke slowly in one of her two races. You have your facts wrong, and a simple viewing of her first two races by anyone will make this obvious.

randallscott35 10-07-2013 12:59 PM

Here is the spectrum of off poorly....Left at the gate/refuse to start------------- to a stutter step slow. She had 2 starts before this one. Both were listed on Thorograph as being off poorly, quibble with them on the Spinaway, I would doubt they would have that important a race wrong but I guess it is possible and I'd have to take a look at it again when I get home. Either way, her figure went backwards a ways on a fast track which based on the Leah love affair on here was not supposed to happen. If she ran her Spinaway race back she would've won with aplomb.

randallscott35 10-07-2013 01:30 PM

Got a chance to look at the Spinaway....I agree, no poor start, they definitely made a mistake on that.
