Sightseek 09-25-2013 11:42 AM

Alpha obviously caught a flyer in the Woodward, but I wonder if they will be up on the pace? (and help set it up for ORRRRBBBB! :D )

Beldame though is awesome.

A little bit of Ferdinand (older horse) taking on Alysheba (3yo) feel to it.

I don't think its that competitive.... Taking nothing away from Princess. Reminds me of Delta vs HDG in the same race a few years back.

I agree, I don't think there is enough other pace for Princess of Sylmar to catch RD.

I am less concerned about lack of pace and feel as Princess of Sylmar has gained more experience she can put herself into the race as needed.

My concern would be the rail which is more than helpful now.

If anyone goes to the track and doesn't want their commemorative button, I'll take it. :o

Royal Delta is one of the most unreliable top horses around, although I get her poor showing at Churchill was because of a lasix reaction. I could never trust singling her.

Really? Toss the 2 races in Dubia and the race you mentioned and her record is 8 races seven wins and a second. I think Princess of Sylmar is a terrific horse but in this spot I will be singling RD on most tickets.

This is kind of silly. 2 of her bad races were Dubai World Cups. Again taking nothing away from Princess, but she has 1 fast race. What other race makes her even competitve? The 3yr old filly division looked loaded and it kind of fell apart. Beholder comes back with a mid 70's beyer. Julia out until Gulfstream. Close Hatches was hurt and is just getting back. Unlimited Budget fell apart at Saratoga, I have no clue where she is. Princess is good, but a lot of things went well for her. Im not even talking about the inside speed bias, and the lack of other speed in the race both of those things should help Delta on Saturday.

I don't like Orb's chances to win, but its at least nice to have the Derby winner in the JCGC. When was the last time that happened? It seems like its been awhile.

I think Funny Cide the year after he won the Derby.

my miss storm cat 09-25-2013 09:10 PM

Great fields... can't wait... I DO think Princess wins. :)

Sightseek 09-26-2013 07:56 AM

I'm against Cross Traffic in the JCGC and think the 3 year olds have a chance.

randallscott35 09-26-2013 07:58 AM

Think the Hirsch is the best of the bunch myself.

freddymo 09-26-2013 08:25 AM

This card is the best of the year for my money. It's a pleasure to handicap

Ill post thoughts on the Stakes races when I return to work tonight. I know you cant wait.

GenuineRisk 09-26-2013 08:45 AM

Here was this morning's conversation with the preschooler (true story):

"Why does Daddy have to go to work today?"
"Because he needs to earn money for us."
"So I can bet on my number 3?"
(pause)
"Yes. Yes, he earns money so you can gamble. Eat your AlphaBits."

We'll be going to Belmont on Saturday. I would send the pins to Sighty, but I think the kid is going to lay claim to them.

I kind of think the same thing. Travers Day was nice but not as good as this and the way the turf was playing up there was a disappointment.

This sounds like my life. He can only watch a very little bit of TV...so when he wants to watch he says, Watch Horsey Race to tempt me....very sharp.

King Kressa has a huge shot today and hopefully will be as overlooked at the windows as he is on the ML

Seems like everybody and their mothers are on Slumber today.

How often does that work out though? We shall see later.

Nice job by Lezcano to let Graydar go in 47....not like he had a speed advantage or anything.

Sightseek 09-28-2013 02:51 PM

It's a good thing Pletcher was nice enough to not enter any horses in the turf stakes so someone else has a shot of winning a stakes race today. :D

You should drop Lezcano a line and straighten him out.

Oh yeah, you should give some tips before the races are run.

I dont have too, if he is on twitter everyone told him before, and they certainly are after the race.

Only you could think that horse did not need the lead to win.

I see, you are not only an incredible hypocrite, but much dumber than even I thought.
