PROGRAMMING NEWS: ATR shifts to 10a-1p starting Monday

Starting Monday, ATR moves to 10a-1p.. Replay in flux right now but may land at 7-10p same day or 12-3a next morning or stay 6-9a but on a different channel.

Wow - OK. Does this mean they are repurposing the channel or will there still be primarily a horse racing channel? Excluding the Michael Kay broadcast in the afternoon which is not related to horse racing content.

No changes other than adding the Steve Czaban Show 6-10a on the channels..

Channels are unchanged. Sirius 93. XM 209. Online 961. Show is 10a-1p. And Waddle & Silvy at 10a on Sirius ended 6 months ago.

I hope the replays stay 6-9 AM, otherwise I'll have a tough time catching them -- will have to go to the archives more often, I guess. Thankful that you archive the shows.

asudevil 09-13-2013 11:55 PM

How does one connect online with 961?

Do they think that anyone outside of Danzig and Tony Kornheiser give a damn about Washington DC area sports?

Wizards, Caps, Nats, Crapskins, G'town, U of Maryland....

Some lineup.

Steve Czaban has been on DC radio AM 980 for years doing an afternoon show with TK sidekick Andy Poulin which is essentially a Redskin show 12 months a year.

Over the last few years he has been doing a morning show 6-9 AM for Yahoo Sports which ironically has been on XM 208 or one channel down from Steve during the 6-9AM replay.

Steve I am so missing the replays in the morning for my drive to work. I hope an arrangement is made to have them back on some channel. :(

GoIrish 09-19-2013 07:23 AM

Yeah, I need my morning commute replay back.

OldDog 09-19-2013 08:05 AM

Steve,

I know your hands are tied when they decide to make these changes. Just seems to me that Sirius/XM should put a higher priority on your show. They have so many of the same sounding sports talk up and down the dial. You offer a unique product that is not found anywhere else.

Mike

Steve, is the 3rd hour going to be on sirius or do we only get 2hrs now?

Programming was 'supposed' to have the 3rd hour switchover done by the end of the week.. Asked New York about it Wednesday afternoon and haven't heard back which typically means they haven't taken care of it yet.

Thanks Steve

Thanks for the support Mike. I know what you mean and don't particularly understand the need for regional shows on a national network. Over the last couple of years, partnership agreements that SXM has developed has forced placement of some of the programming that has interceded the racing channel lineup/schedule. There's only so much room (and available bandwith) on the Sirius and XM dial and changes seem constant. I try to simply roll with it as it always works itself out. Steve Cohen and Brian Hamilton of Sports are big supporters of the racing content. I get the feeling that a lot of these kinds of moves are forced on them by corporate dealings.

NOTE: It's in the sports play by play category, not in general sports
