i'm a little surprised to see lines of battle on 4 top 5 lists. i suppose he could carry the uae form over here but how often have you seen that happen?

i'm not knocking the colt running in the derby. i'm just surprised to see that level of enthusiasm for him.

Just paying homage for the most amazing day or wagering I've seen. But yes, I think if Gus, Steve, Andy and Nick put their top pick together in a tri and super box for the derby, we could make some money.

I think it could be the level of "unthusiasm" for everyone else. I, however, find him completely impossible and would be surprised if he hits the board.

Too bad we can't just have a fun thread where people post who they like this early without someone coming along to start criticizing.

There are plenty of other threads for that and that's fine...

It's just too bad because it can make some feel a little intimidated or like why even bother.

I respectfully disagree.

Any opinion that can't be defended when questioned or ridiculed is a very weak one.

And indeed, if one offers an opinion that is so weak that you're unwilling to explain the basis or provide it a thorough defense ... why even bother sharing? It's clutter.

You know I respect your opinion but I disagree... it's not clutter. And besides... you have never seemed the type who would rather keep your mouth shut than to deal with confrontation or just plain nastiness for the sake of being nasty like some of us have had to.

There are a lot of different types here and a thread like this? Sorry I think it should be fun and open to everyone no matter what their opinions are without having to have people who seem to love taking little jobs taunt them.

Wait for the weather, post position draw, final fields, etc. for really serious discussion or the threads who proclaim the winner this early out. This should be fun and once the negativity starts? 50/50 there's a domino effect.

I desperately crave attention and confrontation ... when I'm away from this board, I only get the former about 3 nights a week and I never get the latter from anyone.

You know I respect your opinion, but asking people not to disagree with each other is essentially asking people not to have a discussion.

And I'm sorry, but if people can't handle being disagreed with, then we as people who read the board are probably better off having them decide "the hell with it," anyway.

I thought a fair question was asked and might actually stimulate a discussion.

I didn't hate the politics room. I understood why it was removed and have NEVER had a problem with disagreement.

i was picking on you, i know how you really felt.

I posted that comment for two reasons.

1) To bait the guy into another west coast biased post.
2) To find out from someone who labeled Linda Rice as a juicer and Verrazano as a NY horse, how he figured Super Ninety Nine would somehow get the distance.
