I admit I don't follow the Finger Lakes jockey colony but isn't our jock named on two other horses in this race? Paul |
A race last week he was named for about 1/2 the field. It happens. He won 4 races today. He's a credible jock. LeCesse will find a good one. I suspect that M. Davila will have his choice of the 3 and I think we can guess who he'll choose. The conditions are right for her to run a big one. She's going turf do dirt and cutting back 1 F on a mile track like the Aq inner. Consider a pick 4 among others. They pay pretty good at times... And best of luck to Ausable Chasm and all her connections!!!
It looks like the pace scenario is ok. Ausable is pp 5. pp 4 and 6 will want the lead, followed by pp 10. Then 9 and 5 should be just behind this group follwed by the rest of the field. You can expect a 22/3-4 qtr. As Ausable Chasm settles in behind #4 we hope she gets a sense that she has a shot here and makes her move at the top of the stretch getting the jump on the other closers.

Here's Miss Directed in her last start, 5 1/2 F. She's trying blinkers as she drops into the race.
http://www.nytbreeders.org/includes/...ack=FIM&race=7 And then Hook n Eye, 5 1/2 F enters as the co-fastest last race bris sp #. Birdstrike in this race too. http://www.nytbreeders.org/includes/...ack=FIM&race=3 The other co-fastest entry off her last race, 6F, is the closer (she was never more than 3 L off the pace this race) pp 2 Hit Your Stride who is in good form. Also in this race are Sew Your Notes, Five Silvers, Singing Empress. http://www.nytbreeders.org/includes/...ack=FIM&race=2 Talented closer Birdstrike comes in 2nd off a layoff from outside pp 11. Off 3 5 1/2F races at PID enigmatic Tough Talk tries the dirt again. 2-5-6-11 super |
Hook n Eye, Tough Talk, and Bitterweet Baby have also been entered for races on 10/23.
If the 3 depart #4 Miss Directed remains the early speed, then #8 Sew Your Notes, and #5 Ausable Chasm stalking those two. If Hook n Eye departs 2-4-5-11 super. |

Who's going???? I'll heading up Sunday evening or early Monday......any meet up place before the race?
In Victor NY :D will be @ the track around 11am or so......who else is goin' & where is everybody meeting up????? She's got a GREAT shot here, the #4 is definitely the "horse to beat"....... the 1a & 9 look like contenders also, the picks are : 4/5 - 1a/9/10 :tro:
I'll be at the track tomorrow, be getting there before the first race
20/1 morning line and she opens up at 7/5. Now, that is more like it. When we first started this venture, the Dee Tee horses would always be bet wildly at the first flash. Not so much anymore but this is cool today.
Paul |
An easy winner at 7/2. Great job to everyone involved!
I am not sure what happened to her silks (looked like house silks not ours). But, a great and resounding win. Paul |
Nice run! Congrats to all involved.
She drops and pops!!!
Very very nice!!! |
that was cool!! so glad that she was sent to FL.
Textbook win. Broke from gate just super. J. Rodriguez with a heady ride. Makes it look easy when it all falls into place. CONGRATS!!!
Congrats guys!
Nice!
Great score for team DEE TEE congrats.. The plucky filly really proved herself!!
Congrats, everyone!!!
congrats.

Ausable Chasm
Nice win today at Finger Lakes. Paid $9.80.
CONGRATS:tro: |
Congrats to the Dee Teers who patiently waited the 25 months 'between drinks' and thanks to Mike Lecesse and his barn for taking Sable on. Thanks too to Jaime Rodriguez -- who used to ride the filly in the mornings often when he was downstate as a bug under Tommy Cordero -- for nice work in the irons. The best hop is the drop as they say and she ran well on top of it. Felt good to see her pose for a photo again. Glad Hoff and (I think) Swale were there in the circle.
congrats to all involved!:tro:

Very happy for the entire Dee Tee team! Very cool to see her dig in and fight for the win! (Despite Tony Calo's mispronunciation of her name!) :D
Very Nice! Way to go!!
They should give a breathalyzer or drug test to the person who made her 20/1 on the morning line.
![]() Never mind the edge on numbers, maybe the linemaker feared the form of the horse would deteriorate leaving the potent Sciacca and Studart connection. |
I was watching the live stream and track handicapper Dave Mattice was previewing the race paddock side with the current odds posted. He said "Number 5 is Ausable Chasm at 2 to 1, not 20 to 1." :D

You can see she was a length faster than the other 6F filly race which was NW3 Y+. She still has her NW3L and NW4L conditions ahead of her. At what level she'll tackle these conditions we'll see. There's some tough fillies @ FL but her conditions favor her and the spirited filly got a hard earned confidence boost. |
