Random observations on 9/11
The effeminate morning guy on FoxNews said Building 7 collapsed due to a raging fire.
I might be a little slow but most buildings can sustain a fire. Maybe we have a few engineers/scientists on the board that can explain to me how a fire could collapse that building. :D |
CNN is talking about the iPhone 5 right now.

I believe that's the same one that the BBC had a ticker running that said it collapsed while it was in the background of the live shot. |
Herman Cain is sharing his experience at the golf course in Orlando, Florida during 9/11 on Fox News.
You know...working hard and whatnot. |
CNBC talking about Steve Jobs.
Jobs said the U.S. lacks engineers. What a coincidence!! Guess I'll be waiting for an answer to my question. |
I don't watch the news on tv much, if at all.
I'm starting to see why things are so bad. If people are getting their news from these folks...whoa. |

How about the millions of engineers that lost their jobs due to outsourcing the last 10 years.. If it is said on TV then it is true right? Never think for a second those that those that are profiting from this behavior may also be the ones sponsoring the "unbiased" main stream media. |
Apparently the failure of one column - of all of the columns in the structure - this one particular column - could have caused the type of controlled collapse with a relatively small debris field witnessed:
http://www.structuremag.org/Archives...sanz-Nov07.pdf CNN and the BCC reporting it live before it happened? Well, they still don't have the answer for that one. |

I laughed, but I can't answer your question. |
Angelina Jolie is in Jordan today according to CNN. She's visiting Syrian refugees looking for a cute baby.

and yes, rosie o'donnell you fat pig, steel does and can melt. but it'll lose it's integrity long before that happens. http://www.popularmechanics.com/tech...eering/4213805 Steel melts at about 2,750 degrees Fahrenheit—but it loses strength at temperatures as low as 400 F. When temperatures break 1000 degrees F, steel loses nearly 50 percent of its strength. It is unknown what temperatures were reached inside WTC7, but fires in the building raged for seven hours before the collapse. |
Random observation, Pres needs volunteers!
Oh yeah, something very sad happened 11 years ago too. https://twitter.com/BarackObama |

Yes, zig. But even you agree that really doesn't answer what happened to building 7. I've been accustomed to seeing fires in most building collapsing a corner of the structure. But I don't believe I've ever seen a building like 7 collapse the way it did from a fire. |

RBE posted that earlier. I need more explanation.
That is all other engineers have to go on? Not one of them remembers how some politicians and others reassured the public the towers were safe? All of a sudden they and building 7 are severely flawed? So basically fiery debris caused a high rise building to collapse. Still don't buy it. |

two buildings like those falling nearby is effectively an earthquake of pretty serious proportions. I do remember all the safe statements, all too well actually. That was part of my request for the thoughts of those I use myself when we build. |
Skyscrapers on stilts...brilliant. |
I'm not in favor of rebuilding on the site. I feel that it's sacred ground and what they've done to it is awful.
To each his own but the waterfall is creepy as all get out. And I couldn't imagine working in the new tower...especially on the holiday and at night. |

I'll probably regret answering this, but when it happened, they spoke about the jet engine fuel causing severe temperatures that were never planned for

engineering takes so many things into consideration-but the magnitude of the catastrophe that day isn't something anyone could foresee. a huge fire, and no sprinklers, and god knows how much movement and strain due to the other buildings collapsing. and sometimes there are mistakes made. there was that walkway years ago that collapsed. bridges have been done incorrectly-that bridge that collapsed in st paul-they'd overloaded part of the span with building materials. as soon as it happened i told my husband that was probably what did it. of course they had denials initially, but in the end, that was exactly what was wrong. we push our luck trying to feed our egos by building higher and higher. there are limits no matter what we want. |
Let's never forget the religion that led to these animals deciding it was a good idea to kill innocent civilians.

While we're on ridiculous topics... O'Reilly said he hasn't lost any liberties since 9/11. That liberal punching bag Holmes agreed, of course. He doesn't want to lose his job. He already got bullied out of his show with Vannity. The blonde presstitute, who I believe is on the early morning show, agreed and said she hasn't lost hers as well. Absolutely pathetic. Carl's Jr. Rove is pontificating with Vannity. Waiting for Rachel Meadow to come back from break. Hey...she pronounces it like that. It's pretentious as can be. |
Like 5 minutes of commercials. One was of the pasty guy that got a tingle up his leg when Obama gave a speech or a photo op...whatever.
Something off about that guy. Commercial with a bunch of cats. Now back to Meadow. Kinda Freudian there. WTF More commercials. 6 minutes. 6 minutes. 6 minutes. Butchy shill you on. |
I now want a Beardo.

K.D. Lang had Kurt Eichenwald on to plug his new book that throws dubya under the bus.
Meadow threw some soft balls and didn't address this... http://www.slate.com/articles/news_a...ournalism.html Because credibility doesn't matter when you have a dis-info agenda. 95% truth |
Greta Ban Substance is coming up next.
I'll report on how many blinks John McCain has during his interview. I refer the over/under to the first reply. Edit: AP reports one American dead in Libya. Over a documentary that Florida Koran burning preacher who looks like Yosemite Sam produced. |
If bin Laden's goal was to have an effect on American society that went well beyond the direct damage caused on 9/11, he accomplished that goal. Two wars that have each lasted more than a decade. The Patriot Act. TSA. The Department of Homeland Security.
Every backwater town and police department gets Homeland Security money to buy all this fancy equipment to make you feel safer. The reality is that it is a job engine for the well-connected, and it gives some cops the ability to play out their fantasy of being soldiers. If we had the American mindset of say, 1911, in 2011, the response would have been much different. There would have been retaliation, of course, and the security lapses would have been examined and corrected. But that would have been the extent of it. The best rebuke to the terrorists would have been for American life to go on as close as possible to how it did prior to the attacks. |

This country will never be the same. The people who should have protected us dropped the ball, preyed on our fear and unawareness of global affairs as a whole, and then took our liberties away like we are children. And we accepted it. And now those of us who raise awareness are looked down upon. The same people who put American flag stickers on their cars after 9/11. REVENGE!! BLOOD FOR BLOOD! It's worked great for us. |
