Racehorses named after Celebrities

I have been watching the US Open and listening to the commentator/tennis great Chris Evert.

It reminded me of how great the filly Chris Evert (who ran in the 1970's) was as a racehorse.

Have there been other racehorses who were named after celebrities that proved to be talented ???

There were many, and I'm sure others on here will whip their names out right away.

One that comes immediately to mind is SHECKY GREENE.

Oprah Winney. Oprah mentioned her on her show. Does Marino Marini count? He's a famous sculpter. There was a boxer a few years ago and I'm blanking on the name, but that was another one.

Teofilo was a champion 2yr old in the UK and retired undefeated at 5-5

I just remembered another quality race horse from the 1970's - Telly's Pop

but he was actually named for actor Telly (Kojak) Savalas's father..

and then, of course, there was Cojak the race horse
