Can "Casey mute this a-hole" be a horse name?

Enjoyed that phrase so much from ATR this morning I wondered if there could be a horse name that would pass the Jockey Club

Archives for Tuesday aren't up.

It was an unruly caller complaining about lack of jockey interaction after a race while Mig was guesting; where else in media can you get such an honest reaction?

bigdog_14086 08-28-2012 09:14 PM

It is an instant classic!

:o

That caller is a very bad guy. He's been on before and has pulled similar stunts.

The suggestion that jocks "turn away after winner's circle presentations with disgust" was so ridiculously wrong that the reaction of Mig and I had to be incredulous and defensive. But when he pressed on trying to belittle the jocks and their interactions with the public, I'd had enough.

The generosity of the riders, especially at Saratoga, is in fact over the top in the other direction... they'll do anything to merchandise the game to patrons. No mention was even made of the riders weekly fund-raising efforts including jock karaoke, guest bartending, basketball & softball games, chef competition, galas, etc..

And, if there are some that take pictures and go back to the room without much interplay, understand that the potential is there for some to have a language barrier to conversations with winner's circle or paddock guests.

It has seemingly become an instantly memorable ATR moment with calls to put "Casey, mute this azzhole" on a tee shirt. That may be hard to resist..

It's the least jocks can do after some of these rides they give.

Muted by Casey

Holy Mute

I'm glad I caught that call on the replay this morning.

Shirts are a great idea. Pocket print of the DeeTee silks on front. "Casey, mute this *******" on the back.

Oh that's the same guy? I haven't a chance to listen to it but I definitely remembered someone doing something like this before. Does he call in to ATR after he gets into the sherry? I'm torn on whether to listen to it or to just smile at everyone's reaction on DT.com. You guys are funnier than he could ever hope to be.

You'd think 9a-12p would be early for that.. No. He's just a mean, unpleasant guy. Some other racing outlets have had similar problems with him as well.

New favorite radio show slogan

Casey, mute this azzhole > Banned from the Tony Kornheiser show

Made my day, Steve! I was sitting in traffic and you made me laugh my azz off.

The things that some people complain about who are supposed to be fans of the game just amaze me.

joeydb 08-29-2012 01:03 PM

Heard it on the replay this morning. Laughed so hard I almost wrecked. You read my mind Steve - the word a--hole fit him perfectly.

luvalab 08-29-2012 09:48 PM

Which segment is it in? I missed it live, but from reading what you guys have said I gotta hear it! Thanks.

That was great Steve, for a second I thought I was listening to Morton Downey Jr :D.

My question is, what the hell took you so long?

I just listened to it, that was awesome! With the exception of a very few instances all the jockeys that I have seen at different race tracks across the country have been very respectful/grateful to the owners and fans. I've seen them several times stop to sign autographs, take pictures with fans or give a pair of goggles to kids standing near by.
