5th Annual Saratoga Meet Contest

Once again we will conduct the most fun, interesting, and difficult handicapping contest of the year, The Saratoga Meet Contest. a 40 day extravaganza testing your wit and will against your DT family.

The drill is simple. You get 40 x $20 wagers to make over the entire meet. Best ROI wins. You can bet in what ever manner you want but only $20 on one horse at a time. You can bet more than one horse in a race.

I'll have a wagering thread to post your pics, and when you win, you'll be responsible for posting you winning on the winning thread.

Should be fun. You in?

Alabama Stakes 07-12-2012 02:02 PM

thanks spydey

I'm odds on to repeat. :tro:

In.. Thanks for running this. Can I make a recommendation, last year there was some grumbling about players blowing all their picks and getting in under a different name. Why not require all players to make at least 1 pick the First Fri-Monday and not allow anyone to play who hasn't.

How funny was that? He still couldn't win with TWO names.

What a Attachment 2015

I appreciate your comments, but, I challenge anyone to cheat and win this contest. Since it's my contest, I'll say right now, cheat if you want to. If this contest means that much to you, honestly, send me a PM and I'll help you win!

for a small fee.

Saratoga Meet Rules and WAGERING THREAD

Here we go.....

Like last year, you get 40 x $20 imaginary WIN bets to use during the meet. This equates to one bet per day of the meet, but you can bet anytime, and any number of horses.

Place your bet on Saratoga Meet Rules and WAGERING THREAD in the following manner:

August 7th
Race #4: Slambino

Use the date if the wager is a day other than that in which you post.

PLEASE NOTE: You will post your winnings on the Saratoga Meet RESULTS THREAD. Do so in the folliwng manner:

August 7TH
Race #4: Slambino - $1027.00

Multiply the $2 payoff by 10. If that is too difficult, get a calculator. If that is still too hard, this game really isn't for you.

Scratches are no bet. If you pick part of an entry, it has to run, If you pick "1" you get both.

You got a problem with any of this? Then this game really isn't for you.

Prizes!

Well, this usually when I ask for donations. Steve will always kick in a little something, and I may do a trophy thing, but I may not. So PM and goodies you want to unload.

The real prize is playing in a 40 day contest at the greatest track in the world! I look at it this way. For those of us that are not there all the time, this gives us more time to think about The Spaaaaaaa!

Spyder out.

pointman 07-16-2012 06:28 PM

I keep forgetting since last year's winner hasn't bragged about it about 1,000 times and used it as their signature, someone remind me, who won it?

TheSpyder 07-16-2012 06:31 PM

I forgot to send that someone the licensing fee for using "The Saratoga Meet Contest" name in e-mail and blogs.

Thank you sir for reminding me.

what were you ? like a distant second or something. Did you like the way I put an exclamation point on the win to close the meet.

Still no prize though
