They all take liberties with editing. They are all told what to say. And if they don't then the owners of said companies are sent to a kangaroo court.

Faux News actually reported that the withHolder drama could help Obama.

What? Yes that's right.

joeydb 06-21-2012 10:47 AM

The mainstream media (NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC) are, collectively, Pravda and Tass of Soviet-era repute.

FTFY...Faux rules...

Rudeboyelvis 06-21-2012 01:31 PM

Hahaha Lamestream Media... instead of Mainstream Media

I've never heard that before did you just make that up?!

The same news operation that practically incited coast to coast race riots by selectively editing the Travon Martin 911 tapes?

Say it ain't so!

NBC and their cable arm, PMSNBC have less credibility than TMZ and Perez Hilton.

Anyone with at least 5% of a functioning melon knows this.

Danzig 06-21-2012 01:42 PM

just read the article, it's outrageous. another reason why i read multiple sources..and if i see something reported in one area, i want confirmation elsewhere.
media wants to be trusted, and then pulls garbage like that. tell us the news, don't slant the news, or try to put forth a view of something. that's not what they're supposed to be there for.

What!, you rightwing nuts authored that term...Hear it every day..

And NBC copied that editing bit from Fox talking heads...they are the masters..anyone with half a wit knows that...:)

I get my real news from Diane and Stewart...:tro:

Coach Pants 06-21-2012 02:34 PM

You get your news from Diane Sawyer and Jon Stewart and are proud of that?

Jesustapdancingchrist make the tard stop.

GenuineRisk 06-21-2012 03:09 PM

Far more interesting than the attempt to turn the Wawa touch screen into Romney's scanner moment was what he said afterwards:

“I met an optometrist this morning. And this optometrist wanted to change his billing address. He moved his office from one side of town to the other. Same zip code. Same post office. But he wanted to change his address. He got a form from the federal government. This is so he can get reimbursement for the services he provides for the poor and seniors. The form he gets to change addresses is 33 pages long.”

As has been pointed out:

"Romney contrasted this tale of government inefficiency with the wonderously efficient WaWa ordering system. But Mediate points out that the relevant form, which allows Medicaid fee for service providers to change their addresses, is actually two pages long."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...EKoV_blog.html

So really, Romney should be happy the media cut the tape after "It's amazing!" That just depicts him as being out-of-touch. His whole speech shows him to be a liar.

sorry, i disagree. to know a major media outlet is using editing to tilt a story is reprehensible. what do you think about what they did?

as for romneys tale, did he make it up or is that what the doc told him?

Does this disqualify him from being President?

So what does that have to do with the editing of the tape? Yeah we know you hate Romney and love Obama but how does that justify the crap they pulled? As RudyRudyRudy pointed out they pull the same crap with Travon Martin.

What next ? Maybe an edited tape that shows Holder didn't know about Fast & Furious?

Romney is a serious serial liar. He doesn't just exaggerate or shade for politics sake - he outright lies. He lies about clear facts. He lies about the truth.

Again: this isn't the "both sides do it" pandering and making oneself look good, or only telling one side of the story. This is deliberate ignoring of apparent and clear fact, and deliberately lying about it to make a better story.

The scary thing is, Romney appears to have no problem at all with lying.

And that has nothing at all to do with President Obama. Or Ron Paul. Or Buddy Roemer.

So just as Obama's economy and $5 trillion in new spending is George W. Bush's fault, MSNBC's willful distortion through editing of Romney's remarks is Romney's fault. :zz:

Not at all what I said, Joey. What MSNBC did with their editing was wrong, just as when Fox or CNN or anybody else edits falsely to leave a false impression. No, that's not Romney's fault.

I was addressing something else: outside of the MSNBC incident, having nothing to do with it, Genuine Risk pointed out something else that has been noted this campaign by multiple observers: Romney has a known and observed problem with lying. He says things that are not just political, or exaggeration, or making one side look good. He lies about readily apparent facts. Deliberately, repeatedly.

BTW, "Obama's economy" has had 28 straight months of job growth, GDP growth, unemployment drop, Wall Street record gains. Yeah - Bush spent us from surplus into massive deficit.

It's impossible to have 28 straight months of "job growth" and have more people out of work! The unemployment figure, despite the cooking of the books, is WORSE, not better. All the parrotting of that line will not change that fact. There have been millions of jobs lost, NET.

It gets even worse when you calculate the number of people actually not working, as opposed to recently unemployed. When the person hits their 25th month without a job, they magically fall off the records and statistics.

It's not all Bush's fault. This guy added 5 trillion in new debt. That is more than all the previous presidents, (at least from Clinton back to Washington - not sure about George W.) combined.

The lying is not going to get this guy a second term. He is the worst president we have ever had, including GW Bush, Carter, Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, and Herbert Hoover.

the private sector has added jobs 28 straight months. but with the amount of jobs added lagging behind those that have been lost previous, and with new potential employees joining the job search, overall unemployment is still horrible.

it's a nice selling point tho, isn't it? somehow, obama can claim his policies are doing great-look at the numbers...but when numbers aren't worth bragging on, well that's not his fault. good news-obama takes credit...bad news, it's back to being bushes fault. it's a can't lose situation.

Here is a chart that shows both job growth, and unemployment numbers. Note that when Obama took office, the loss was 800,000 jobs for one month under Bush. Yes, Obama has to make up all the jobs Bush lost - then build on that. It's slow, but it's there.

Yes. Everyone is aware of that. Shame the GOP kicked so many off the roles, by stopping benefits, isn't it? Wonder what happened to those folks? Homeless now?

Nope.

No. The economic facts will. He's doing the best he can in the face of 100% obstruction - deliberately declared political obstruction, btw - by the opposition party.

You're certainly entitled to that opinion. I hardly agree, because I don't see any factual evidence for it in the least. I like ending wars, saving the auto industry, reversing a massive recession careening into depression (yes, majority of economists said the stimulus definitely worked), decimating Al Quaeda, defending the rights of women, unions, Hispanics, etc :tro:

Yes. The anti-government beacon of Ayn Rand takes his Social Security, his government paycheck, and his taxpayer/government health care :tro:

But Ayn Rand took her checks, too, in the end.
