Princess Arabella retired

John Fort just announced on TVG....no link yet :(:(

OldDog 04-19-2012 12:39 PM

Heard it as I was driving. He remarked that similarly to Frank Whiteley's comment about Ruffian, every time she went onto the track he held his breath (I paraphrase). Her retirement disappoints - leaves me wanting more.

Pussies.

Or anything at all for that matter.

She might have looked like a machine and all that -- but I didn't see anything in her performances to justify the attention she got.

I felt her illustrious career was underwhelming.

Who do you like? You seem to diss a lot of horses. 3 this week, plus the insults about Gemologists campaign. For the record, I dont like Gemologist at all.

Indian Charlie 04-20-2012 12:29 AM

In other news, Gemologist suddenly became a lock to win the Kentucky Derby.

Ironically, the race is brought to us by Yum Foods.

I dont like Union Rags, Gemologist and Ill Have Another. Not one bit, not a little, not at all.

I'm interested in playing the superfecta. Is there a fourth horse that you don't like?

Sure... Im not a fan of El Padrino or Mark Valeski if they get in. And yeah, Reveron belongs in a 50k claimer. So you can toss him in any race he runs in.

I would say you and IC should pool your money and play together, but he stays away from the windows. Hes a smart guy.

Be grateful with the trifecta.

I cant wait until omitting Union Rags blows up in people's faces.

Indian Charlie 04-20-2012 12:55 AM

Great, now I'm condemned to a life of utter fuktardation.

Thanks.

He has not moved forward at all this year, if anything he has regressed.

What is Doug O'Neil's record outside of California?

It's fine, 17%, $2.40 ROI. That number is bolstered by a few longshots but he hasn't done as much shipping in recent years.

Yeah Nick, who do you like? All you seem to do is diss horses (3 this week apparently, but who is stalking...I mean counting anyway?) and that insult about Gemologist's campaign was just horrible.

You've really changed man.

Thanks, the exploits of Lava Man and Square Eddie had it clouded in my mind.

If Lava Man wasn't the worst shipper ever - I have no idea who was.

He was a first-ballot Hall of Famer on California form...and a $10,000 claimer away from it.

Three Holywood Gold Cups, Two Big Caps, a Pacific Classic, a Sunshine Million Classics on both dirt and turf...first horse to ever win a Grade 1 on dirt, turf, and synthetic, over $5 million in earnings, Beyers in the 120 range at peak.

Here is Lava Man's career record outside of California:

* Sunshine Million Classic: 7th by 14.5 lengths behind 70/1 shot Musique Toujours.

* Jockey Club Gold Cup: 7th by 45 lengths

* Japan Cup Dirt: 11th place

* Breeders Cup Classic: 7th by 16 lengths (Giacomo 4th by 4.5 lengths and Brother Derek 5th by 5 lengths -- Lava Man toyed with both in his prior start at SA in the Goodwood)

* Dubai: 16th place and eased.

He was literally 15-to-45 lengths better in So. Cal

I hate when I ask questions and the answers are possibly obvious to all but me, but . . .

Why?

Who knows.

I've heard Larhage speculate on behavior issues he'd have when he shipped...but the bottom line is that he basically had a complete meltdown everytime he shipped for a race.

He'd come back to So. Cal and revert to his peak form.

LARHAGE 04-20-2012 11:52 AM

You are correct, he is a complete head case when he ships, I'm curious how he will be ponying for the Derby, I personally wouldn't risk his health for that, I had a mare just like him, it was a nightmare handling her and she developed a severe ulcer.
