2012 Masters Toonamint
OK, I'm close by, so I'll start it.......
The weather here in Dixie is getting very warm, storms expected Thursday & Friday, so wet weather may mean some low scores vs. hard & fast like Mr. Payne hopes for. Love all the talk about Tiger vs. Rory, just hoping Phil does not get motivated by it. Not a Phil hater, just don't think he's all that genuine....and I know lots of people who will agree with that. Dark horse..........Bo Van Pelt The winner I want..........Tiger. Superfecta fillers......Scott, Day, McIlroy, Schwartzel, Ogilvy. Hoping for a great back 9 on Easter Sunday, and I know it will be. |
I don't like the Masters. At all.
To quote from "Amadeus", the movie, the members of Augusta National have convinced themselves they really do sh!t marble. I remember Gary McCord comitted grave sin there once and I'm pretty sure he still isn't allowed back! We can all just thank the almighty that Jim Nantz will be there properly genuflecting from Butler Cabin. ( I jest, I probably won't be able to resist flipping it on Sunday despite my disdain for the place, it just makes me feel dirty watching sinners like Tiger and Darren Clarke soil such a pristine place.) I vote for Sang Moon Bae. |
OK, but what the hell did Darren Clark do?
|
Of course rooting for St Johns alum Keegan Bradley :)
|
rooting for
Cabrera K.J. Jimenez McIlroy Stadler either Watson Woodland Tiger rooting against Z. Johnson Sabbatini Scott Westwood |
Things I wouldn't be upset seeing:
Another Green Jacket for Tiger. Rory atoning for last years collapse. A first major for any of the following: O'Hair, Kuchar, Stricker, Jiminez, Haas, Bjorn or Garcia. Olazabal to have one last run at a 3rd Masters title. I love their website. www.masters.org |

I'm in a 10 man draft tonight with family and friends, we each draft two golfers. I draft at 3 and 18. Hoping to get Luke, Mahan, or Phil at 3 and then Keegan or Schwartzel at 18.
$100 to winner of tourney and $200 to best cumulative score. Best weekend of the year!! |

Kaymer has played 4 times and missed every cut...........

Villegas is not playing.............. |

Webb Simpson is my longshot pick. His problem is Sundays. |
If I were betting I'd take Choi at 60-1, Oosthuizen at 66-1 and Woodland at 100-1
Mike Weir must be playing like crap as he is 500-1 |

Dustin Johnson WD's (injured back), Jason Day has an injured foot but will play. Weir has had ongoing elbow issues and missed every cut in 6 tournaments so far this year.
I think handicapping this year's event needs two considerations: Horses for courses (experience and past performance record) as Augusta has to be learned and respected. Only Fuzzy won on his first try, and that was 33 years ago. #2 is putting.....the tour keeps statistics on "strokes gained putting" and the current leader is Van Pelt (finished 8th last year), followed by Phil in the 2 spot. Day & Scott finished T-2 last year. And of course by Sunday around 5:30 this will all be meaningless........ |

I have stuck a couple of Euros on the following:
Ogilvy 94-1 Garrigus 259-1 Van Pelt 74-1 Woodland 139-1 Dyson 499-1 Snedeker 99-1 Ishikawa 329-1 Laird 169-1 Haas 94-1 Garcia 69-1 If half them make the cut, I'd be happy - I'm looking forward to the official GPK verdict on these :) |

I'm sure there are two sides to the story and I am also sure we are not going to hear the other side. Not having contact with a half sibling is not unheard of. |
Anyone considering Jason Duffner????
