Early Playoff thoughts.

In general and from a betting prospective....

Texans get a huge break drawing the Bengals with a rookie QB having to go on the road. Ill stay take the Bengals though. I dont believe in the Texans, not one bit.

Saints are better, a lot better. I just dont have that gut feeling type thing going on for this game. Ill be betting it because its the playoffs and Ill have to lay the points. It feels like a Saints blowout or a shocker like them losing to Seattle last year. I think they were 10 point road favorite in that game.

Denver has looked like ****. But I would have to take the 8 at home.

Love Atlanta over the Giants. Lines not out yet, but Im guessing Giants are around 3 to open and they bet Atlanta down to around a pick at game time. LOVE ATLANTA.

somerfrost 01-02-2012 10:20 AM

Texans seem up against it without their QB, think the Bengals win in a low scoring affair. Broncos should lose by double digits even at home. Saints really on a roll but this will be a high scoring affair...pick Saints. Atlanta vs the Giants is a game that I have no idea....which Giant team shows up?

RockHardTen1985 01-02-2012 10:21 AM

GIants did open at 3, no movement yet.

Every single team in the playoffs is extremely beatable. I have no other thoughts. Denver and Detroit are the least likely to win the Super Bowl. I think Houston is the most likely to pull a Jets and make a conference championship game with a bad qb.

extremely? i don't think the saints or packers are extremely beatable. denver will be eaten for lunch. i think the pats are a weak one seed. giants-depends on who shows up. but several really tough teams in there.

Hickory Hill Hoff 01-02-2012 12:04 PM

The Texans & Bengals is a toss up, slight edge to the Texans because the Bengals haven't beat a playoff caliber team......
Saints are way to tough at home, this will be a shoot out with the Saints coming out on top.
Giants & Falcons comes down to where it's played; at the Meadowlands, Giants win it late in a close one.
Steelers travel to Denver, no problem....the Steelers "D" wrecks Tebow and turnovers will be the difference in a Pittsburgh victory.
with the lines......TEXANS (over) LIONS (WAY over) GIANTS (under) BRONCOS (over)

the Saints are not a great road team and that is where they go after next weekend. The Packers can't play defense at all. They're very beatable. Not that they will be. I think the Giants, Saints, 49ers could all potentially beat them however. I honestly think Denver will stay in the game against Pittsburgh. I just saw the Cleveland freakin Browns play close to even the last two weeks against the Ravens and Steelers in must win games for both teams. they're all extremely beatable in this post season.

Lock of the first round. Its a stone cold lock, and when you have been on fire for 4 months you have the bullets to play it.

Awesome...in so many ways.

herkhorse 01-07-2012 03:38 PM

Houston will win it all.

Pacman gets burned and Simpson's going to lose his nuts if he keeps that up.

I would say this is classic, however the proper adjective would be, expected.

knickslions2 01-08-2012 07:12 PM

I lost a ton on ATL, a ton. Check the original post though. I went 2-2 this weekend and bet Denver for a lot more then I would have had Atl won. Denver moneyline got me a lot of $ back, and Denver moneyline with LSU tomorrow night parlay is paying enough to get me way out.
Good call on the Giants though, but Ill take 2-2 with a sold 8 dog ML.

Where did you mention taking Denver moneyline in your original post?

He didn't.

Why do you bother trying to keep him honest? Just enjoy the locks and analysis he provides and be thankful you don't have to pay for such a good service.

500 for the boots. I never tell the truth. 400 for the boots. Stupid.

RockHardTen1985 01-09-2012 10:33 AM

Next week.... Gotta be more specific. I guess me taking over 25 ML dogs in my upset thread is not enough.

San Fran plus 3.5, they are plus 4.5 right now at sportsinteraction.com. Luckily I play there and sportsbook.
Anyway San Fran plus 4.5 and MONEYLINE.
Pats minus 13.5
Ravens minus 8
Pack minus 8.5
Thats who I like, I like San Fran the most, might really lay off this week other then betting San Fran heavy and LSU tonight. Good luck to everyone with everything.

Even though my beloved Steelers lost :( it was a good week with my picks anyway : 3-1 (lines) & 4-0 (o/u) :D I'll give it a shot week #2 of the playoffs..... I like the SAINTS to pull one out "on the road" in the playoffs this week and I think it will be by a lot bigger margin that people expect! Just gotta feeling that Drew Brees is on a mission this year, to make up for last season playoff debacle..... Even though I would :{>: Tebow & the Broncos to defeat the evil PATRIOTS, I just can't see them putting up enough points to do it. If they do, there is a BIGGER force making things happen! ;) The RAVENS pull it out in a close game vs. the Texans, maybe the closest match-up of the weekend. And it's the big NFC rematch to close out the weekend and at the finish....the GREEN BAY PACKERS narrowly defeat the G-men, aided by their bye with the week off. So it's : SAINTS (under) PATRIOTS (under) TEXANS (over) GIANTS (over)

Guess this helps me
New Orleans -3.5
Houston+8
Giants+9
Denver/NE over 50

horseofcourse 01-13-2012 06:12 PM

I like the Texans this week. Baltimore is the most overrated team in NFL. Biggest untold secret in NFL is they were a much better defense when Ray Lewis wasn't playing. I'm likely wrong, but think Houston and Giants are the most likely road winners. (it could be I just hate Baltimore...it's the team I actually grew up following when they were playing elsewhere.)

Feels good to have it rolling again, 2 games and you can quickly end a disaster. Especially when you love San Fran and the other one is your team. The J train is back on the right track. Will be going a little smaller tomorrow, dont want to blow todays profits.

I kinda think Hakeem Nicks might be ok. I mean, he's no Harvin but he's serviceable.

There are some touchy Pack fans after yesterday's bashing by the Jersey Giants, they didn't appreciate my inference that Rodgers was to blame for the loss. I meant no harm. I realize this is not an early playoff thought, and does not fit the topic. This would be an example of a playoff after thought. By the way, I drove by Les' house yesterday. He was outside sitting in a lawn chair drinking a beer watching Jordan Jefferson washing his car. I threw an egg at him, he ducked then stuck his tongue out. He was laughing. I made the block, making another pass in front of his house. When I got near his driveway, I could not see them anymore. That's when Jefferson emerged from behind Les' car brandishing.....of all things....A FOOTBALL!! Les yelled at Jefferson "GO AHEAD JORDAN, DO IT!!!!". As I passed right by these clowns, Jefferson optioned the ball to Miles. "No you dummy!!" Miles responded to the action. After that entertainment, I had to make another pass. This time Jefferson was 10 feet from the street football in hand and Miles yelling " It's okay, you can actually throw it now that the BCS game is over!". Of course Jefferson uncorked a throw that went 10 feet over my head. I just shook my head and went home. It was a tough throw, I mean I was driving 5 miles an hour and was driving a panel van with a ten foot red bullseye on the side of it. Good times.

clyde 01-16-2012 12:49 PM

!!!! :D !!!!

That was Grade A#1 doubleplusgood fine work.

This must continue, especially the Packer fan baiting.
