So you think

Is he a scratch? Not showing up on PPS now. Any info. Is this a fall out from the turf course screw up ? If so can we expect more?

mclem0822 11-04-2011 08:35 AM

I saw that too, very strange. I haven't heard anything.

rpncaine 11-04-2011 08:37 AM

Saw a tweet that he was out "cantoring" this morning for what thats worth.

jpops757 11-04-2011 08:46 AM

He is not listed in the PPs now.

jpops757 11-04-2011 08:51 AM

What is the result of a scratch in pk4s in the event of a scratch? Refund or favorite? I have him included in my pk 4 and Im leaving shortly to go to the track and make my bets for both days and returning home to watch the races.

If he is scratched now, before betting is open, you won't be able to include him anyway. If he is a late scratch I believe you get the favorite.

Linny 11-04-2011 09:01 AM

That is odd. He wasn't one of the ones scheduled to train on grass so I don't know if that the issue.

I have a feeling he thinks this horse is going in the BC Turf.

I think it was an error. Reports as of an hour ago are that he's doing fine.

That's the only explanation I can come up with for including him.

tiggerv 11-04-2011 09:53 AM

Wrote is also missing from the formulator PPs this morning. I assume it's a bug.

RockHardTen1985 11-04-2011 09:55 AM

Wrote is also missing from the Juvy turf.

hockey2315 11-04-2011 09:57 AM

Horses don't just disappear from PPs when they scratch, so it can't be that.

Why? If he likes the dirt he is the best horse in the race....Over $7 million earned. Distance won't be an issue. Overrated USA horses. I am all over him.

PatCummings 11-04-2011 10:01 AM

Horse galloped this morning...I had a bit of the bourbon last night, but was told he looked typical Ballydoyle.

Formulator has an option.

Good luck. . . he can't win. And would shock me if he hit the board.

Ya but don't you have to do it manually? I can see other scratched horses and can't see them. . . it's not that.

People can't bet hopeless horses? He'll be fourth choice when wagering actually opens.

You still have not answered my question.....why can't he win? I would love to see Uncle Mo run across the pond against the horses over there. He can't even beat Caleb's Posse going 1 turn which he likes better than 10 furlongs

Because he's a 100% turf horse who has no dirt breeding whatsoever. . . I also expect him to be very much over the top. He's a really nice and cool horse and I've been a fan since he was running in Australia, but this is not a race that fits him at all.

So You Think will not finish ahead of Uncle Mo. Good luck to you though. He is a turf horse, a turf horse ONLY.

If he is a turf horse only then why are his connections running him in the Classic?

They are taking a shot at a big purse... It happens all the time, who was the horse who broke down at Monmouth? Was it George Washington? Why did they run him in the Classic? Who was the horse who ran against Bernardini in the JCGC??? I really dont remember him, but why did they run him on dirt? It happens all the time....

If you stopped to think (and look at the past few year's entries in the Classic when run on true dirt) you wouldn't be asking this.

Oh well, that's why they call it gambling. I will not be betting Unclo Mo at 2-1 that is for sure. The only other horse I like at decent odds is Drosselmeyer

I think I know you. Are you from South Weymouth?
Anyway, good luck on SYT and Drosselmeyer. Anyone can win, but they both feel hopeless to me.

They are taking a shot that he's the next Giant's Causeway. This difference is that GC was a monster on grass with a dirt pedigree. They want to see if he'll be marketable as a stallion in North America.
