Tries for #20 -- would break Zenyatta's & Pepper's Pride's consecutive wins and tie Citation's calendar year wins marks -- Monday at Mountaineer..

I wonder if Jerry Moss is going to try to purchase him privately and retire him on the spot.

Or stiff him to keep Zenyatta in the books. Maybe try to get Jara to ride.

santana 11-18-2011 07:35 PM

The race is Monday.....last race...

cmorioles 11-19-2011 11:20 AM

Disco Indy will make him run early. Why do I feel a scratch coming on for either him or RR?

Field obliterated by scratches.... Including DI.

I'm using the 2 as well just in case

TheSpyder 11-21-2011 06:42 PM

So if the Stewards are scratching all these horses as is sited in the program on line, what does that mean? They looked at the horses and said they were unfit? Seems like they have a lot of power here and in this race in particular.

Sorry Peppers Pride

lemoncrush 11-21-2011 08:48 PM

So TVG isn't showing Mountaineer tonight? Why the he'll not? Is it a contractual issue? Not on HRTV either. Ridiculous.

No shiz...what a tool... How exactly was Lady On Fire "Representing Zenyatta and Peppers Pride"?

It was an epic fail of a call IMO. That guy may never have a more important call and he ruined it. Not that I think it should have been important at all, but it clearly was 2 a lot of people.

Honestly, cut the guy a break. For the most part he's stuck calling races with mules running. He finally gets some sort of legit moment, let him enjoy his 2 minutes.

Rudeboyelvis 11-21-2011 09:15 PM

2.20 win 2.20 place... They have a guaranteed minimum .20 payout @ Mountaineer?

Would have been nice to know....I would have bridgejumped the shiz out of him in place

Yup, if that was the case, then I'm 100% sure they would have taken him down and placed him last for cutting off the 6 going into the 1st turn.

I get that, Matt.... I just didn't have a clue what he meant by that - he said it in the post parade, during the load and in the stretch... so he clearly rehearsed it and thought about it...because she was a filly? It made no sense

I know its not the point, but would RR even beat the NY bred overnight stakes field from this past Sunday?

Sightseek 11-21-2011 09:19 PM

All roads lead to ZENYATTA!

Happy he did it. Cool horse.

The shame is that he probably gave it a lot of thought. I guess when a big moment like this gets watered down (due to the scratches), you have to stretch a bit.

He certainly wouldn't have gotten an easy lead.

Rudeboyelvis 11-21-2011 09:30 PM

Does he qualify for the claiming crown since he was not in for a tag in 2011?

Important? This whole win streak thing is indicitive of the sport in 2011. Are horses suddenly great since all these winning streaks started a few years ago? How did horse racing make it through all those tough years without a yearly win streak record to fawn over? Beating plugs over and over again is a nice feat but hardly worthy of excessive mention.

Seriously? He would have had no chance in there. He is winning starter 5k races. Winning 18 races in one year is unbelievable but he is a 25 claimer not a good horse.

Yes. Pre entries were due today

3kings 11-21-2011 09:44 PM

I read where the owner didn't want to ship him. Going for 20 in a calandar year.

I know thats the point Im making. Not only would he have not had a chance to win against NY breds, but I think he would have finished last. I think this entire thing is a joke. Somehow its the main thing on drf.com for the last 3 days. I know a lot of people feel 1 way or the other about Zenyatta but she won a BC Classic and Ladies Classic and finished second in another BC Classic. RR is not in that world, not in that universe. It really is a shame IMO that a starter allowance horse has this record. This record should be held by an old throwback war horse, a G1 caliber horse. Hell even Zenyatta instead of RR.

Sightseek 11-21-2011 09:50 PM

I'm amazed that people can still find something to b!tch about.
