FYI.. Casey has finished rebuilding the Archive and Podcast system on a new computer, and the services on both are nearly up to date with everything. Podcast subscribers should see deliveries of the 'missing' 6/30-7/6 today, and the Archives have them already...

Thanks to all for their patience as Casey re-established the system... Back live Monday from home and set for Saratoga season broadcasts to start Wednesday or Thursday from the Carolina Barbecue Patio!

I have found the podcasts, but when I attempt to download any podcasts it gives an error with a white exclamation point in a dark circle. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

Have asked Casey to review what may be different with the podcast install.

Same problem here, unable to download since the changeover...when you click the exclamation point (for today's show for example) you get the error message: "http://www.thoroughbredracingnetwork.com/071811a.mp3" could not be found on the server

Thanks, I clicked on the exclamation point and I am getting the same error, hope this helps KC find the problem. Looking forward to getting ATR back especially with the big weekend coming up!

I couldn't agree more...it's been a long two weeks without the ATR podcast to listen to on the commute.
Haskin was right; Steve shouldn't be allowed to take vacation!

Must say that I seemed more productive at work these last two weeks though.

It has been horrible without podcasts since June -- glad to have it back in time for Saratoga!!

Is anyone actually able to download the podcasts? I am still having the same problem.

Hang in if you're encountering problems. KC is working on it. He's trying to determine why some are having issues while others are not...

Hello All,

We are continuing to work on the Podcast system. At this point we don't have an explanation as to why some are able to access the files and some are not. For those of you who are not please try the following steps, it may solve the problem for some of you.

1. Unsubscribe from the podcast.
2. Update you browser to & your media player
3. Restart your computer.
4. Re-subscribe to the podcast

This may not work for everybody. As soon as I have more info I'll let you know.

Took almost a full minute to load (the first time) but they are working on my PC.
FYI - All three links are playing Hour 3.

Please help as I am a computer idiot but listen to show daily via I tunes on I phone. I could download show on computer but can't get on I tunes. I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing but no luck. Please tell me what to do. I see links to get downloads but only get ! and no show.

Any idea why I tunes will not work with the show podcast? I am subscribed but I can't get the podcasts to download like they use to do.

Apple devices: MacBook Pro, Iphone, Ipod
 

Hi,

I have the same experience, can't download via Itunes. I use a MacBook Pro computer, and subscribe to podcasts via Itunes to use with my Ipod Touch, similar to what you do with Iphone. (I do have Sirius in my car, but I need to listen later due to lifestyle... subscribing to podcasts for Ipod has been terrific, up till June!!!) My recent experience is the same as yours, the unsubscribing is not working.

I did succeed in downloading for Macs, as Casey explained above. The download went into Downloads icon on the dock(!!!) and from there you can drag it over to your music library in Itunes. Make a playlist, and I was able to get it into my Ipod!!! Yeah!!! Cumbersome, but I used to do this way years ago.

Casey, how can the subscription podcast be re instituted via Itunes?? Unsubscribing and resubscribing hasn't been the answer?? Have you been using this with any Apple equipment?

Right now the our web server & podcast software are not communicating properly :mad: I'm actively working on it... It shouldn't be to much longer *fingers crossed*

Hi Skyfire,

Posting the links was a temporary "work around" to get the audio files out to those who wanted to listen via their respective media devices. This is not how we plan to do it going forward. Hopefully the system will be back to normal shortly.:zz:

All of the computers in the studio are actually Macs... with the exception of the one that runs the archive / podcast software.:mad:


Hopefully this saga will be over tomorrow.

Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate you working on this KC. I have a question as I listen to the archives a lot. I can get the links KC is giving out to copy and thanks Skyfire for telling me how to get it to I tunes. My question is how do you get the archives to copy? I can listen to them on the computer but that ties me down. I can't get the archives to copy and the links I had available to download when I wanted on Itunes disappeared with the new program.

Try this: In iTunes podcasts right click on the TRRN header which will bring up a list of options select show all available podcasts.

I tried that and tried it again after your suggestion and no luck. It will not list the old shows that are available.... not any! Thanks so much for trying to help.

Looks like you got it going! As we speak iTunes is downloading the 7/18 shows and Hour 1 of today's (the only one listed).

KC, great work. I really appreciate the effort you put in to get it up and running. Now I will get to listen to ATR on the drive up to Saratoga tomorrow!

I was able to download all the shows since the change in systems. Thanks for your hard work. Do you know how I can get the links on I tunes for previous shows like January? They were always listed and I downloaded as I went. If not can you tell me how to transfer from archives to Itunes? I don't have the time to listen on my computer. Thanks for any assistance. I am happy I can get the current shows.
