Ausable works toward return; Set for 9/17 at BEL

Horse name Ausable Chasm
Activity type Workout
Activity date 06-06-2011
Track Belmont Park
Surface Dirt training
Distance 3 Furlongs
Workout type Breezing
Workout time 0:35.90 (2nd/20 at distance)
Track condition Fast

Ausable Chasm with 2nd work since returning to Belmont and breezes a sharper 3f in :35.4. Waiting for details from Gary.

ScottJ 06-06-2011 06:32 PM

Please find a five furlongs on the turf where you can set Ausable on the lead and let 'er fly! I know that many handicappers say that 3f works should be discarded, but 35.4 is a serious move and Dee Tee Stables has to be thrilled about this number.

Did it all on her own. No urging. She is feeling good, holding her weight nicely, and looks super. Probably 2 more breezes.

cubster 06-08-2011 10:31 PM

Very nice. Looking forward to her return to the races.

Cannon Shell 06-13-2011 09:12 PM

Saw her this afternoon, looks really good

Ausable with a very easy three eighths just now in :38.0 under Maylan Studart. Galloped out smoothly. Will go another half mile next week and look for a race.

Any chance that Maylan could be aboard her for the next start?

Yes. As it happens, while Ausable was at the farm, Mig observed that she was more responsive and relaxed when handled by his wife, daughter and a girl that works at the farm than she was with male attendants. He suggested lighter and gentle handling from whatever jock is going to ride her, and Studart has been on her in the mornings a number of times.

Great :) wonderful to give her a chance on our filly!

Not sure why it missed the worktab, but AUSABLE CHASM breezed 3f Monday in :37.0 on the training track. Probably one more spin next week and will then find a race.

As things stand right now, AUSABLE CHASM, LLOYDOBLER and MY PAL OF PALS should all get starts at Saratoga...

Probably trained at night with the bell like Seabiscuit in order to throw reporters off the trail. Sharp.

She's looks the best she has since this time last year, feeling frisky and on the muscle. Gallop boy yesterday asked Paul when she is running because she was pulling on him like crazy. Hope a race gets put on ASAP.

Hopefully, Travers week-end... the same as last year when she won! :)

At this rate, that could be. No sign of a race for her.

Steve,

Any news on AC's next start? Hopefully she can go one more time at the SPA.

Race is in the book for Sunday. She'll be entered Thursday and run if they use the race and she makes the field..

hud8118 09-01-2011 01:40 PM

not in field

Steve

I see that Ausable is not in the field for Sunday's race...wondering if she just didn't make field or if something wrong...if ok, will next race be at Belmont?

20 entered and she was one of 4 that ended up excluded. Truly incredible and very frustrating. First available downstate, but loses chance to go 5.5f at BEL.

Spoke to PJ Campo Friday, and he said that he will put up the $20k/N2L (6f-T) for Sable in the first week or so at Belmont.

stevepopyak 09-05-2011 10:46 AM

A few pics of Ausable Chasm from last weekend at Saratoga.
