Expect massive underperformance when they turn 3.

ateamstupid 05-26-2011 12:39 PM

It's a good thing, because he's been dreadful everywhere else this spring. His horses have become an auto-toss.

I hope you didn't auto-toss him at Keeneland.

8 starters 4 winners 2 yo.

freddymo 05-26-2011 04:55 PM

Give the guy credit he saw an opportunity to win races with forward stock and he jumped on it. I think its ballz and brilliant..Anyone mocking him is jealous they didnt think of it first.

Go ahead and check out his stats the last month and see how many odds-on favorites he's had lose.

If this passes for an auto toss I would have to say you have some very high standards.

ateamstupid 05-26-2011 06:45 PM

Thanks for ignoring what I asked you to do.

If its an older horse, Ward has been a toss since forever.

Do you auto-toss Todd Pletcher, Steve Asmussen, Mike Trombetta, Bruce Levine, Graham Motion or Steve Klesaris trained horses?

Ward's win % and/or ROI is higher than every one of those guys with 3YOs and up the last 5 years.

ateamstupid 05-26-2011 07:09 PM

For phucks sake, I make a point about Ward's horses in the last month underperforming and it immediately turns into a discussion about Ward as a trainer. I didn't ask for his goddamn numbers at Keeneland or his 2011 numbers. Check our his numbers since Keeneland ended and then tell me he's not an auto-toss right now.

I wasn't referring to your post. I am aware of Ward's numbers in the last month, specifically with favorites (3-22, $0.56 ROI).

Yes

blackthroatedwind 05-26-2011 07:14 PM

Why would anyone automatically toss any horse? Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Beyond strange choice when in the playalong that day I hit the mile turf stake Mott horse for 4 figs....Gave some back on Moryba. How are you a mod again?

As usual, you've made yourself look silly in this thread again. Congrats, though, on handily winning the Joe Silverio Post In Every Thread Award. Mott's numbers with older horses are AWFUL compared to Ward's. 17%, $1.48 ROI vs. 23%, $1.69 ROI.

It would have just been easier/smarter for you to say, "yeah, it's stupid to say you just automatically toss a given trainer's horses."

Didn't John Candlin have a pretty healthy ROI as well?

Battaglia picked Animal Kingdom. There is hope for you yet. No go back to ignoring me so that the readership doesn't cliff dive again. I give the people what they want. Bread and circuses.

Really? From the guy who whined and bitched about how certain people around here, specifically radio show guests of Steve's, get preferential treatment. How many shots have you taken at people on this board?

I'm glad there's still hope for me, though, it's really refreshing.

I thought you said spring, I gave you spring meet numbers. Your spring must be a lot shorter than most.

If you have other numbers why not share them.

Thread polluted? I asked you a question about Wesley Ward. It got de-railed when you suddenly stumbled to maintain your "I'm smarter than you" mantra then decided to insult me.

Randall have a heart.. You have two real experts that devote their careers at racing. What's even stranger is they are two people who will seriously listen if you have something to say or are willing to teach if you want to learn. Instead you make outrageous claims that just arent correct. What do expect these guys to say? Its one thing to be wrong shoot these guys are WRONG 75% of the time..It the methodolgy that makes it right not throwing a dart at ocassionally landing on Park Place.. Just pipe down and listen

I answered your question with a sweet "yes." I throw out every horse I don't use in a race.

AeWingnut 05-26-2011 08:29 PM

I don't bet races in europe.

it's bad enough when I lose on my own but when I listen to someone else and lose... that's no fun at all

Because a different horse that runs in completely different races has everything to do with it.
