tough angle to figure for the Preakness

According to Harold Camping (see http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-501465_1...51-501465.html), the Rapture will begin on May 21, 2011 in New Zealand in the form of a cataclysmic earthquake which will sweep around the world and hit the Baltimore area at about 6:00 pm eastern standard time.

Since posttime is 6:05 pm, do I just forgo placing any bets, or do I hope that they can get the race off before the END?

Also, recognizing the unique earthquake-sensing ability that some animals are reputed to possess, do I factor that into my handicapping analysis by downgrading the horses I deem to be the most sensisitve?

Go to DRF.com and read Dan Illman's take on this insanity Rapture crap. His story is hilarious especially his ending of why this can't happen.

If we're on our way out I definitely want to have tickets in my hand.

You will have 5 months to cash, this is just day one, the world doesn't end until October.

So, this will be our last chance to see a Triple Crown winner? Go Animal Kingdom!

Clip-Clop 05-18-2011 12:20 PM

Perhaps the mighty Kegasus will save us from the 4 horsemen.

pointman 05-18-2011 12:34 PM

This guy have any connection to Riley Martin?

I'm not counting on him.
Time to liquidate my assets and bet it all on Animal Kingdom to Win.

I'm not sure I understand this Rapture thing.

Do I have this right? Rapture begins, Christians leave the Earth, then five months later, everything goes boom?

Exactly! I want an over/under on the seismic force as well as a parlay on the initial death toll.

Beyond that, I want to do an all/all super with Mr. Commons in all four slots.

MISTERGEE 05-18-2011 01:02 PM

is this what they mean by a "chaos" race then?

Maybe they'll just take him away to the nursing home, and say, "See, Grandpa? Here you are! You made it! You're in heaven, you've been taken up in the Rapture!".

And, get this - according to the judgment day prediction center, there are only 200 million people worth saving on this planet. So yeah, a lot of us could be in big trouble come Saturday night.

dagolfer33 05-18-2011 02:35 PM

Is there any way we can get Vic to come make the Preakness call......after all his earthquake call was classic............

I think the theory is 5 months of bad. But I cannot see how the two would co-exist...

Awesome!

Sounds far fetched though. I'd have trouble coming up with 200 million worthy.

slotdirt 05-18-2011 03:59 PM

That includes dead people as well. It's like one percent of the world's population ever.

If I have the Preakness TRI, I hope I get to stay around for at least a while...

Rootdog1 05-18-2011 08:57 PM

I would like to go on and start an angels thread for myself.....just to beat the crowd.

slotdirt 05-20-2011 12:49 PM

Add the Macho Man died in a car accident today to the list of tough angles to figure for the race tomorrow.

lord007 05-20-2011 01:11 PM

Me too.

About 10 minutes before the race a good friend of mine called me. He said goodbye. I said where are you going? He said the world is going to end. I said, it better not end until after the Preakness.

I said the same thing.. I figured if I was gonna go, might as well be while I was doing something I loved.

richard burch 05-21-2011 10:49 PM

at about 6:15 eastern time, some dark clouds floated over, the sun was blocked out, the wind become strong and it started to rain.

and then shackleford won the preakness.
