Future bets: Who has them?

I invested $260 total (got a little nuts cause I was winning on the day both pools were open) into the KY Derby Exacta and Oaks Exacta. The R Heat Lighting defection really benefited me and have a great chance to be 'out' after the Oaks.

The tickets I'm still alive with

Only uncovered with Santiva is Decisive Moment and Comma to the Top, and I'll be boxing with those two with Santiva for $3 on Derby Day to have complete coverage if Santiva wins or runs 2nd.

50% of my Oaks action is still alive
82.86% of my Derby action is still alive (hoping I didn't speak too soon)

Best Value has to be the Joyful Victory / Kathmanblu exacta box, it has to be paying $20-25 on Oaks Day, and I am getting $135/$140.

Pool 2
I have $20 Win on Archarcharch

$1 exacta Box
Mutual Field, Uncle Mo, Archarcharch, Dialed In, Stay Away, Jaycito

These are the only 2 bets made($50. Total) so they are both at least partially active

lemoncrush 05-03-2011 07:12 AM

Only alive to Dialed in at 35-1 in a future wager in Vegas from early December. The Hilton had him at 75-1 up until the Holy Bull in late January, but there futures book wasn't available in early December when I made the bet.
Future bets I ripped up:

To honor and serve 125-1
Elite Alex 150-1
Brethren 100-1
Leave of Absence 150-1
Bandbox 200-1
Anthonys Cross 200-1

jms62 05-03-2011 07:41 AM

That is how I feel about the Derby action. I'm hoping that I hit the Oaks exacta and the Derby is a complete freeroll.

knickslions2 05-03-2011 09:25 AM

From the first pool I have

$20 win Stay Thirsty (alive) 40-1

$20 win Rogue Romance (Dead) 34-1

randallscott35 05-03-2011 09:29 AM

Great to have that much action alive still regardless. Its a 20 horse field. Strange things happen.

I also have Stay Thirsty at the same odds and exacta wheel. This will be my back up bet as I will look elsewhere

Hickory Hill Hoff 05-03-2011 11:15 AM

UNCLE MO over DIALED IN - pool#1
DIALED IN with "field" - pool#1
DIALED IN over UNCLE MO - pool#3

hockey2315 05-03-2011 11:24 AM

I have a small win on Mucho Macho Man from Pool 1 and a small win from Pool 2 on Archarcharch left.

Bogey 05-03-2011 11:46 AM

Pool 3 - Animal Kingdom @ 31-1, I project he'll go off in the 20-1 range. Not much value but always fun to have some future action.

He will go off higher than 20-1. I would guess higher than 31-1 as well.

Dunbar 05-03-2011 02:38 PM

I have fairly huge action on "All Others" from Pool 1. The action is split 60/40 between the win pool and the exacta pool. (I bet every one of the All Others/Listed horse exactas. My goal wasn't to find the right exacta, my goal was to spread my action so that I'd profit the same no matter which horse completed the exacta.)

That gives me these horses to win:

ArchArchArch
Pants On Fire
Midnight Interlude
Brilliant Speed
Master of Hounds
Nehro
Twice the Appeal
Animal Kingdom
Watch Me Go
Shackleford
Twinspired
Derby Kitten
Sway Away

I also have a big bet (but not as big as my Pool 1 bet) on All Others from Pool 2, all of it in exactas. I'll win my Pool 2 bet with all the same horses above except that ArchArchArch and Sway Away are out and Decisive Moment is in.

Rileyoriley 05-03-2011 10:12 PM

Only Stay Thirsty(40-1) is left for me.

dylbert 05-03-2011 11:12 PM

Pool 1: $2 win on Santiva. Liked his late run in Risen Star that I had attended that weekend.

Dead money: Santiva-Sweet Ducky exacta

I hate to bring this back up, but .

Do really think that the switch to Johnny V had that much of an effect on his odds?

Good call on the pick and the actual odds, too.

No not 10 points worth. Maybe 2 or 3 worth. But all the odds were so strange to me anyway. Mine That Bird has created a situation where no longshot will pay what it should anymore.

I was only joking. I agree with you about the odds. I still haven't figured out the odds on Twice the Appeal (Borel) and Pant On Fire.

If any horse is close to 40-1 people are going to bet on that particular horse and brings the odds down thanks to Mine That Bird.

Of course The Bid crushed Animal Kingdom at post time after touting nothing but Twinspired all week.

I've been good, gave gambling a little break after getting married, having my son, and buying a house to save some money. I had a good feeling about Animal Kingdom as I posted on here, but sadly my first Derby winner was not a winner in my pockets because I decided to not bet. After all, every other derby I bet I just threw away money so I decided to save it this year, of course it was the first Derby I haven't bet in my 7 years of following

Glad to see you hit good, how are you and your horses doing?
