Conspiracy theorists heads explode - full birth certificate released

Of course, the conspiracy theorists won't accept even this, I'm sure.

It does point out what an outright liar Donald Trump is (regarding "what his investigators have found" in Hawaii), and that's a good deed.

C-span also has the following documents as released by the White House at the press conference today: press secretaries release, Presidents authorization for lawyers to get certificate, lawyers request to Hawaii, Hawaii' response.

Great. Now we can just hope he isn't reelected.

Riot 04-27-2011 08:40 AM

Sorry, Antitrust, I didn't see you'd already posted this. Perhaps the threads can be merged.

i think you beat me by a minute... i'm waiting anxiously for Dellinger's interpretation.

I hope now that it's out he can start acting in America's interest as a natural born citizen should, as opposed to a frenchmen tossing hankies around :)

Saw on morning news that Trump is in NH campaigning....they showed a clip of this warthog claiming: (1) the President was born in Kenya, (2) he's a Muslim and (3) he didn't deserve to get in Harvard because Trump "has heard" he was a poor student. It's well past time to shut this mother up, he up to 20% in the polls of Republican candidates and has offered no platform...nothing but personal attacks on President Obama's character. Even Republicans deserve better than this...at first he was rather funny but now he's sickening!

Riot 04-27-2011 09:12 AM

I just went and read RedState and Drudge to read the comments - what hysteria :D

Nearly all the comments are declaring that the document is a fake (of course!), or that the birther issue was secretly started and maintained by left wing extremists in order to paint the innocent right as racists.

:D

Yes, "release the transcripts" is the new whine from the haters.

Wow, that sounds like the same campaign that Obama ran when he won the presidency (obviously he was doing the same to President Bush).

I try really hard not to accuse folks who actually buy into this crap of being racist but it's becoming harder by the day. I've followed politics since the late 50's and have never seen anything like the right's personal attacks on a sitting President. There were snide remarks about Bush's academics and intelligence but not by candidates and nowhere near this degree. Wallace played the race card and sadly drew significant support but was quickly rejected by both parties. Nixon learned early on how to play to the nation's paranoia....but man oh man, what's next for the Obama haters?

Show me evidence of Obama attacking President Bush's character....it's one thing to attack policy and/or political ideology, quite another to engage in a personal smear campaign!

Here is the President's press conference on this issue this am. What an absurd clown show our political discourse has become:

** It should be noted that our television network executives chose to break into programming to televise this five minute comment by the President - the WH did NOT ask them to do so.

Love how he says he didn't address it so far cause he's so busy yet like a clown takes time out and holds a press conference to announce how busy he is. Maybe he can call in sick at all his NYC fundraisers and get 'caught up' with work.

Trump is an idiot. He is not even a good or legit businessman and I do not know how anyone could actually support him as a presidential candidate. I could care less about this birth certificate stuff.

What I do care about is the price of Gas, inflation, jobs, wasted government $, raising the national debt limit, the US credit rating, the devaluation of the dollar, more government invasion into our lifes, taxes, and more. All of which I see the current administration, Geithner, and Bernancke as failures so far.

You've cut to the chase on where we differ...I think we had to spend our way out of the recession, gas was too cheap and I certainly trust the govt more than I do my next door neighbor, especially if he owns a gun.

Four more years.

And those are all legit issues...we can debate the direction we should be going, responsibilities for the mess we find ourselves in etc....lively debate on the issues is the essence of democracy, personal attacks are not.

The Obama administration has cut massive $$ amounts of waste from Medicare with the PPACA.

This administration has cut out massive duplication and waste from the federal government.

The massive job loss starting in the years of Bush have been stopped and reversed, although still too stagnant.

Inflation has been actively held in check by actions of the Fed.

This administration has asked for a no-frills debit ceiling raise to protect our credit rating, fighting Congress.

Your income taxes have been lowered twice during this administration and are historically low.

And you see this as "failures so far".

Nothing this administration does would please you - especially doing exactly what you want.

There may have been a need to be an increase in spending to try and help the economy. I just think we spent the wrong way(lots of wasted $) and we will find ourselves with more problems in the next few years once inflation actually comes into the market. You are just starting to see it now. What happens when mortgage rates hit 7-8% do you think the housing market will recover?

And still set the record for spending!!!!!!!

And stop with the BS of PPACA saving anything. It will be a Medicare program on steroids with Post Office like results.

The sad thing is that you are repeatedly proud of your deliberate ignorance.

No, Dell, the PPACA is not a "Medicare program on steroids". It is some reforms to the private insurance industry. And it's not any "will be". It is already in effect and is the law. Seeing the law is already in existence, where is the "medicare on steroids"?

Everybody is entitled to their own view and interpretation of political and government policy. But you're no better than Donald Trump with your deliberate ignoring of reality and purposeful choosing of ignorance regarding the issues.

Nothing wrong with not supporting any administration's policies or actions, or being adamantly and actively opposed. But do it based upon the reality and truth of it. This recent national acceptance of literally making outrageously false crap up, and deliberately ignoring truth and reality, is disastrous for this country. When did it become cool to be ignorant and proud of it?**

** Oh, wait - Sarah Palin

Take out ALL subsidies and requirement to purchase insurance and go from there. Get the 'opt out' in writing if needed.

And only a small part of it is in effect and law.

Raising the debt ceiling actually will hurt the credit rating. Inflation will come, you are just starting to see it now.

Where is the "Medicare on steroids" part? How are the savings in the program that fund it false? C'mon - you continually make ridiculous and exaggerated accusations here and expect to be taken seriously with your political discourse. Support them.`

When every high-risk/pre-condition policy holder is provided affordable rates low risk patients will be forced to pay for that affordability in the form of higher premiums. When every Tom, Dick and Harry whether because of their own fault or not are offered subsidies to pay for policies those w/o subsidies will be forced to pay that bill. That's the cost part.

The steroid part is the fraud that is inevitable and estimated at 10% in the Medicare world. Times that by 40,000,000 new patients under Obamacare and it's anabolic!

Except those 40,000,000 are not on Medicaid or Medicare, or part of those pools. They are in the private insurance pools that you and I are in now.

Quote:

The White House

Office of the Press Secretary

April 27, 2011

Remarks by the President

James S. Brady Press Briefing Room

9:48 A.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: Hello, everybody. Now, let me just comment, first of all, on the fact that I can’t get the networks to break in on all kinds of other discussions — (laughter.) I was just back there listening to Chuck — he was saying, it’s amazing that he’s not going to be talking about national security. I would not have the networks breaking in if I was talking about that, Chuck, and you know it.

Q Wrong channel. (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT: As many of you have been briefed, we provided additional information today about the site of my birth. Now, this issue has been going on for two, two and a half years now. I think it started during the campaign. And I have to say that over the last two and a half years I have watched with bemusement, I’ve been puzzled at the degree to which this thing just kept on going.

We’ve had every official in Hawaii, Democrat and Republican, every news outlet that has investigated this, confirm that, yes, in fact, I was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961, in Kapiolani Hospital.

We’ve posted the certification that is given by the state of Hawaii on the Internet for everybody to see. People have provided affidavits that they, in fact, have seen this birth certificate.

And yet this thing just keeps on going.

Now, normally I would not comment on something like this, because obviously there’s a lot of stuff swirling in the press on at any given day and I’ve got other things to do.

But two weeks ago, when the Republican House had put forward a budget that will have huge consequences potentially to the country, and when I gave a speech about my budget and how I felt that we needed to invest in education and infrastructure and making sure that we had a strong safety net for our seniors even as we were closing the deficit, during that entire week the dominant news story wasn’t about these huge, monumental choices that we’re going to have to make as a nation.

It was about my birth certificate. And that was true on most of the news outlets that were represented here.

And so I just want to make a larger point here. We’ve got some enormous challenges out there. There are a lot of folks out there who are still looking for work. Everybody is still suffering under high gas prices. We’re going to have to make a series of very difficult decisions about how we invest in our future but also get a hold of our deficit and our debt — how do we do that in a balanced way.

And this is going to generate huge and serious debates, important debates. And there are going to be some fierce disagreements — and that’s good. That’s how democracy is supposed to work. And I am confident that the American people and America’s political leaders can come together in a bipartisan way and solve these problems. We always have.

But we’re not going to be able to do it if we are distracted. We’re not going to be able to do it if we spend time vilifying each other. We’re not going to be able to do it if we just make stuff up and pretend that facts are not facts. We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.

We live in a serious time right now and we have the potential to deal with the issues that we confront in a way that will make our kids and our grandkids and our great grandkids proud. And I have every confidence that America in the 21st century is going to be able to come out on top just like we always have. But we’re going to have to get serious to do it.

I know that there’s going to be a segment of people for which, no matter what we put out, this issue will not be put to rest. But I’m speaking to the vast majority of the American people, as well as to the press. We do not have time for this kind of silliness. We’ve got better stuff to do. I’ve got better stuff to do. We’ve got big problems to solve. And I’m confident we can solve them, but we’re going to have to focus on them — not on this.

Thanks very much, everybody.

END 9:54 A.M. EDT
