If you are Repole......

Do you continue to the Derby after that?

randallscott35 04-09-2011 05:02 PM

tjfla 04-09-2011 05:04 PM

Well they are running the Tesio on 5/7 too:D Think that is only a mile

Rileyoriley 04-09-2011 05:05 PM

Point him toward the Met Mile.

At least he can beat Toby's Corner. This makes the Gotham a key race! LOL

keithting 04-09-2011 05:05 PM

Forget the Triple Crown for this year and go ahead and buy the NY Mets....

No Mo!

pweizer 04-09-2011 05:07 PM

Of course they go. All of the talk will be about how losing was the best thing that could have heppened to him and how much he got from the race. Just wait.

I would still take him head to head with Stay Thirsty for any sum of money.

Paul

The last couple weekends have proven this class is bad. I would run anything with the earnings at this point.

Merlinsky 04-09-2011 05:19 PM

You never know, he might've hurt himself. It could've caused the loss or happened when he was trying hard not to lose. These days I don't count on a horse making the Derby til the post parade starts. Something didn't look quite right much farther back than it should've if he was just getting tired. It makes me wonder if, for no other reason than to rule out something physical, they've already booked an x-ray for Mo.

I didn't see him looking absolutely amazing and then hit a distance wall. Who knows what that was all about.

Travis Stone 04-09-2011 05:25 PM

I wouldn't be scared to face this Derby field with my dog... Pack up the van.

boswd 04-09-2011 05:28 PM

I say why not go forward, I mean it is entirely possible he just threw in a clunker. All sports stars don't have Hall of Fame numbers every time they perform. I'm sure Ted Williams had a few o-4 days in his career.

I say go forward

HaloWishingwell 04-09-2011 06:00 PM

The higher the stakes and the longer the distances the more this crop is beginning to stink up the joint. With Uncle Mo's showing today I expect full fields for the remaining preps as everyone scrambles to get enough money to make the wide open Derby this year.

Yeah but when the Splinter went 0 for 4, he rarely struck out

Happily, the connections of Secretariat decided to go after something like that.

fpsoxfan 04-09-2011 06:17 PM

Really? I mean really? Unless this horse comes back with syphilis he's going.

Indian Charlie 04-09-2011 06:21 PM

Do people know how to watch a race?

I'm guessing not.

AeWingnut 04-09-2011 06:22 PM

I was hoping he would have waited to do this in the Derby

ummm, there's always Saratoga

Danzig 04-09-2011 06:24 PM

of course you run him. hell, what kind of sport would this be if you stopped on a horse because of a loss??

paulo537 04-09-2011 06:26 PM

Odds on Mo

Problem in front leg -120
other issue: +110
runs in Derby: +600

I'll take 100 on "runs in the Derby" to win 600.

About as stupid a thread to ever grace the board.

If he's healthy, he goes!

Mike, you clearly haven't been to the Political Forum of late.

If you think his trip beat him, then clearly you do not.

It moved to +650 before you bet.

I know, I know. . . you already explained in the seven other threads people felt compelled to start about this race. He looked fine until he was empty. Absolutely no excuse if you ask me, but I haven't watched replays of his races 10000x, so you might know better.

I've watched the Timely Writer once. His MSW maybe twice. His Champaign once and the BC maybe 3 times.

Try watching the horse, as well as the jockey, when you watch a race.

I've probably watched more races this week than you will watch this month. I don't see a thing besides an empty horse with no excuse. I'm not a Mo hater, but he sucked.

If he's healthy he goes. If not they've got Stay Thirsty. How many 2nd stringers ended up winning the derby? A few.

You may have watched more races this week than I have this year, but as you point out yourself, perhaps you don't see things as well as you could.

If you are Repole...

i would shut up and stop talking about zito.

Indian Charlie 04-09-2011 07:55 PM

If I was Repole, I'd start work on a vaccine to eradicate stupidity, and give the shots away to those in the most need.
