Todd Pletcher

It's his world and we're all taking up space. Awesome Maria just needed a bit more time in his "program."

Coach Pants 04-02-2011 04:53 PM

Looks like the elder of all Oompa Loompas.

Coach Pants 04-02-2011 05:18 PM

Thanks D. Wayne for spawning another overly tan doucheba.g who ruins racing.

pucknut 04-02-2011 06:49 PM

Wow a tad harsh for the best trainer in the game for at least the last 5 years
Were I an owner I would hope he took my call
As a bettor you know his horses will be ready
and at least he doesnt die his hair like so many vain metro male wipers of other peoples bottoms

Coach Pants 04-02-2011 07:07 PM

Let me guess you like Wal-Mart and Goldman Sachs too.

When the wheels come off these two that won today about 4 months from now it's going to be very, very ugly.

Sightseek 04-02-2011 08:07 PM

His horses are finishing up just like they were a few years ago.

Must be all of those 4f breezes.

Maker tans so well because he has Syrian ancestry.
Dallas Stewart doesn't tan at all...maybe why he sucks so bad.

It's the hair. Even the sun would avoid shining on that mop.

I was looking so forward to completely dismissing Stay Thirsty.

If Teflon Todd gets that plug into the winner's circle tomorrow then he should be handcuffed and led away immediately.

Did you really have to post that pic?

One time at Saratoga I had dropped a form, a spiral notebook, and a binder on the ground and was digging money from my one pocket to put into my other pocket - and he walks by - wearing either a pink shirt or pink tie (I forget which) and sipping a Lemonaid and goes "is that for me?" and laughs as he keeps on walking.

I'd love to see someone hit him in the face with a pie.

pucknut 04-03-2011 11:18 AM

enlighten me
just how well do you know Todd PLetcher

hoovesupsideyourhead 04-03-2011 11:27 AM

ive met him about 9 times...

Coach Pants 04-03-2011 11:39 AM

I don't know him personally. What I do know is that is completely irrelevant to my claim that he's helping to ruin the sport.

He's no different than Wal-Mart. Moves into a town, usually gets an advantage (tax breaks), defeats the local grocer with strength in numbers which in turn forces the locals to shop there, then raises the prices and has the city, state, and federal government in the palm of their hands.

And to top it off they have the camera presence of a mute with aspergers.

hoovesupsideyourhead 04-03-2011 11:55 AM

he gets the best stock blows them out at two and lets the chips fall where they may..bone chips that is..lays off horses till they recover then sees what he has..

I'm in no way defending Pletcher but as impressive visually that Awesome Maria and R Heat Lightning looked their Beyers were in the 100-102 range. It's not like they ran up 115 Beyer. Can it be said these two were running against overrated shit?

Yeah - this stuff happens every winter ... and sometimes during the first two weeks or so of the Saratoga meet leading into the yearling sale.

For the rest of the year - Pletcher's ROI is typically in the toilet bowl ... and guys like Marty Wolfson can take some of his worst performing stock and transform them into real horses.

Pletcher has all the big edges over anyone else in terms of stock ... there are at least a few guys out there who would achieve even more than him if they were able to get his stock year in and year out. That's beyond obvious - and even smart people seem blind to it.

I can't wait to see how Life At Ten runs.

I disagree.
Mom and Pop shops are way more expensive than Wal-mart. The reason they go out of buisness is that they cant compete with Wal Mart to make thier prices competitive. Yes, you get better attention at mom and pop shops but I really dont want to sit and talk with the shop owner about the weather all day.

It's like watching an animal getting confused by its reflection.
