Oscars tonight....
Anyone watching out there? I only managed to see 6 of the 10 Best Picture nominees. I didn't think i would see a better film than The Social Network, until last night. The King's Speech is a superb film, the performances across the board are outstanding. Colin Firth deserves Best Actor, i would be shocked if he doesn't win that. Geoffery Rush is magnificent, although it would seem Christian Bale i believe is the fav, and i didn't see The Fighter, although i have heard raves about his work. Also, i picked him in a contest to pick the winners, but Rush wouldn't suprise me and it would be deserved of the performances that i have seen. I also as i mentioned in a previous thread enjoyed Winter's Bone, and the performances in that film, looks like a bit of an outsider tonight. But could be some suprises, who knows with the crazy Hollywood crowd!:D

Yeah I'm watching...family tradition. Haven't seen The King's Speech yet, but also hear from reliable friends that it is great. I love those kind of histroical movies (The Queen, Elisabeth, etc) so I'm sure I'll love it. If not for all the buzz on TKS I'd say The Social Network would be my choice. I REALLY loved Winter's Bone too, but I know theres no way it will win. Maybe Jenifer Lawrence will pull a big upset. Enjoy the show!

NIN's guy is doing soundtracks now?

Trent Reznor.....
From Nine Inch Nails to Oscar Winner how about that. Great Score in The Social Network, can't argue with the choice.

Anne Hathaway is beautiful but too much yelling and clapping into the mic

Tina and I ran out to see 'The King's Speech' and 'The Fighter' over the last few days. Both outstanding and most deserving of the various Oscar accolades bestowed upon them Sunday. For me, 'King's Speech' was as good a film as I've seen in a very long time, and will have the enduring appeal a Best Picture requires. If you haven't seen it, try to get to it on the big screen as opposed to waiting for home viewing. It's the kind of film that needs to be watched in the intended setting.

Everyone's a movie critic.
I thought they all stank. And no, I didn't see any of them.....thanks so much. |

I didn't see that one either....did you like it?

The only nominated film I "seen" were Winter's Bone. I liked it for what it was
nothing great but it was a nice little film. Getting nominated was more than it deserved but some of the past winner's were nothing to get excited about - (recently) none come to mind but that's my point |

Unfortunately the category suffers from this incessant need to honor whatever is the hot topic de jour. Even three years after the fact. |

Interesting read on deserving best picture winners. Worst picture to win all time, and who should had won. (King's Speech not included) http://www.nerve.com/entertainment/r...-worst-to-best |
