Thanks for the heads up.

jwkniska 02-22-2011 11:31 AM

I'm in.

my miss storm cat 02-25-2011 01:29 PM

Don't forget!

RockHardTen1985 02-25-2011 07:26 PM

I took the Candy Ride second time starter in the 4th. 2 rules Ill try to follow....
Stay away from super obvious/popular horse. Tomorrow is clearly Evening Jewel. Stay away from claiming races. MSW, Stakes and Allowance races is where Ill choose from.

jwkniska 02-25-2011 07:29 PM

Belo Purse for me.

Arletta 02-25-2011 07:57 PM

Sat 2-25

I too am going to try and not get suckered into the "obvious" or "popular" horses..Which most likely means I will be out by the weekend :D

R6) #5 Red Sharp Humor

This one is really risky IMO. Comes out of the worse race of anyone. The Runflatout race is likely OK and I like the Baffert and Steve A from that race a lot.

ranger5830 02-26-2011 03:32 AM

Taking Lord Avalon in the 2nd, looks like they've been pointing to this spot. Also, thanks for this thread, otherwise I would have never known there was a round 2.

3kings 02-26-2011 06:15 AM

It doesn't really matter because at some point I always forget to put my pick in. I will take #1 Wegner in the 8th.
Good luck everyone.

Dunbar 02-26-2011 07:12 AM

Mr. Commons for me, without even looking at the PP's. 8-5 in the 6-horse 8th race.

Arletta, I hope yours comes in. Sharp Humor was one of my favs.

Thanks Dunbar.. I might change my mind before post time.. I am liking the #11 in the 1st quite a bit. I think either horse will run in the $$, but I need to get a win and not just play it "safe" like I did last time.

mclem0822 02-26-2011 12:13 PM

Sat. 2/26 Contest Pick....

Race 3-#1 One Bad Romance

Good Luck All!

mbahadur 02-26-2011 01:22 PM

Will go with Evening Jewel in a 5-horse race off the turf. Would be extremely shocked if she cannot finish in the money versus those remaining in the race.

If she runs out of the $$, it will sure knock out a lot of people.

I would've switched to that one if I hadn't been on the road all day.

I made it.

Now Evening Jewel is running in a 4 horse field. A lot of scratches today so almost all the chalk is coming in.

RockHardTen1985 02-26-2011 07:26 PM

Amazombie is my pick for Sunday.
Good Luck

Dunbar 02-27-2011 08:29 AM

Another PP-less stab for me: Word Association in the 6th.

You'd think that after having run a bunch of these Showvivors, Santa Anita would have the software down pat. But the "Top 100 Handipappers" shows 100 people who seem to have correctly picked the 2nd place horse in race 7 yesterday. It also says these "Top 100" were actually "eliminated" in that race.

Go figure.

ranger5830 02-27-2011 11:11 AM

Scratched into a win yesterday, so continuing on and going with Forty Dates in the 2nd.

mclem0822 02-27-2011 02:21 PM

Sun. 2/27 Contest Pick......

Race 1-#2 Love You So

Good Luck All!

Also.... Right after the last race Saturday it said the contest was down to 1851. Then Sunday when I checked and made my pick it was over 2k.

they made, then fixed a mistake that originally ko'd 800+ people that shouldn't have been (my sister included).

RockHardTen1985 03-02-2011 07:40 PM

Im using the #7 Jax El in Race #1. I had a hard time coming up with anything.

ranger5830 03-02-2011 09:39 PM

Going with #6 Gaelic Glory in the 2nd. He was good to me last out so hopefully he'll be good again.

Dunbar 03-03-2011 03:43 PM

Forgot to pick before hitting the road, so had to pick via a non-capping friend over the phone based solely on ML odds and # of horses in the race. Achak in the 3rd.

Now, looking at PP's, that race looks wide open. Might've gone with Ranchero, along with 1111 other players, if I'd looked more closely.

jwkniska 03-03-2011 04:32 PM

West Ruler in the 1st keeps me in.

Dunbar 03-03-2011 09:45 PM

My remote attempt to stay alive didn't work. Carry on, all!
